For all you Gardeners….
The toil required in the veg garden is unrelenting & very real, especially with the current hosepipe ban. Carrying watering cans can be a literal pain in the backside.
- So try not to fill them too full, & if possible use 2, it evens the load when transporting to your plot.
- Swinging them side to side over your poor beds, isn’t ideal - try walking behind a steady stream.
- Hold them close to your tummy rather than with an out stretched arm, when pouring helps limit the strain on your body.
If they do cause you that frustration aches & pains, we’re here to help you out all Summer.

Can’t promise you a good yield of tomatoes, but we can make it easier for your to enjoy your efforts…..nothing beats home grown produce ❤️
ps. can’t take credit for the success shown, ….. just enjoy the results 😊

Celebrating the birth of Andrew Taylor Still

Born on 6 August 1828, Andrew Taylor Still challenged the medical assumptions of his age and established osteopathy upon a distinctive understanding of the human body: not as a collection of isolated parts, but as a living, self-regulating and mechanically organised whole.

Nearly two centuries later, his work continues to ask something fundamental of every osteopath: to look beyond the location of symptoms, to understand the relationships expressed through the whole person, and to seek the principles underlying clinical practice rather than merely applying techniques.

Today we celebrate Still’s intellectual courage, his determination to question established convention, and the profession that developed from his work.

Happy 198th birthday, A.T. Still.

As some of you will be heading off on your much-needed summer holiday break, here’s some advice regarding Air or car travel.

· Try to keep moving, rather than just sitting still, rock from toes to heel while sitting. Clenching buttock muscles will help with blood circulation. These are still possible with Seating constraints or limited leg room.
· Be aware not to fall asleep in an awkward position. Use a rolled up fleece as an improvised pillow for your neck or low back.
· Avoid Wearing of tight undergarments or restrictive clothing although compression stockings are helpful for those with varicosities or other lower leg swellings.
· Limit alcohol & coffee consumption & drink water to avoid dehydration.

Try not to over pack, heavy suitcases being dragged through airport’s & putting bags into overhead lockers or in the boot of the car can lead to muscular aches & pain. Which is no fun while away.

If you need help with discomfort or pain before you travel or on your return, please contact the Practice as we're here all Summer.

Happy Holidays

Those who advertise “Osteopathic manipulation or techniques” are often not Osteopaths.
To be an Osteopath, you have to be registered with the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC) which requires 3-4years training from a reputable College or University, to complete 90hours continuous professional development over 3year period & hold Professional Indemnity Insurance just to maintain registration.

Something to contemplate is a statement below from a student of the founder of Osteopathy, AT Still in the late 1800s.

The warmer weather is bringing the garden alive after the dormant winter months.
If you over do it (& we all have at some time); the hot soak in the bath may ease those minor muscular ache but if it’s a bit more than painful, treatment may be the answer. Contact the Practice to make an appointment.
