ππ« CHALLENGE ACCOMPLISHED! ππ½ββ‘οΈπ£
31 hot days later, Daphne and Bobby celebrated the end of their walking/running fundraising challenge with a glass of fizz!
For every 1,000 steps 104 year-old Daphne took, MHA Area Manager Bobby matched it by running a mile - with a minimum of 3 miles per day for the whole of July.
Daphne, one of MHA's oldest residents, finished with a flourish, recording 3,613 steps today while Bobby ran 10km from his home to MHA Ryelands to complete the challenge together.
Both are beacons of inspiration, Daphne for her determination and commitment to staying active at 104 and Bobby for running over 100 miles during the hottest July on record, often pushing his little boy, Hewy, in a jogging pram!
To date, the pair have raised a fantastic Β£1,056 for nature based initiatives, which focus on the benefits of outdoor space and meaningful activities that enhance physical, mental and emotional wellbeing for residents at Ryelands.
It's not too late to donate at https://www.justgiving.com/page/robert-brooks-ii-6
By supporting this challenge, youβll not only be helping to fund valuable nature based initiatives, but youβll also be celebrating the power of movement, connection and the great outdoors!
CONGRATULATIONS DAPHNE AND BOBBY! πππ½ππ½
