Acknowledgement Notice for the late Edward (Eddie) McAteer:

Declan, Kealan and the extended family of the late Edward (Eddie) McAteer wish to thank all those who sympathised with and supported them in their recent bereavement. We thank those who attended his wake and funeral, sent cards or messages and donated to Cancer Research, Newry.

A very sincere thanks to Monsignor Hugh Connolly for his pastoral care and for celebrating the Requiem Mass, his meaningful eulogy reflecting on a life well lived. We also express our gratitude to Fr Charlie Byrne for concelebrating the Mass. A special thank you to Eddie’s nephews and nieces for organising and playing the beautiful music, thoughtfully chosen and so personal to Eddie which greatly enriched the ceremony.

We thank everyone at Art Barfunkel who catered so well for us following the funeral. We especially express great appreciation to our good friends and neighbours who helped and looked after us during Eddie’s wake.

A special thank you to all those at Daisy Hill Hospital who cared for and supported Eddie so well during his final weeks. We extend a particular thanks to his carers Lorraine, Niamh and Pauline whose care and attention to him during the past few years allowed him to continue living at home as he had wished.

Our sincere thanks to Cathal, Méabh and all the Staff of McAnulty Funeral Directors for their attentiveness to the family and their dignified and respectful organisation of the funeral arrangements.

Edward’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated on Saturday 13th June at 7.30pm in St Marys Church, Burren.
