I’m back from my two weeks away in the USA and so ready to get back on the mat with you all this week!
This week’s theme is Rebuilding & Rediscovering Rhythm & Routine – and it feels like the perfect one to come back to. Being away always reminds me that a bit of change is so good for us. My usual yoga, Pilates and workouts took a back seat, and instead I said yes to things that pushed me right outside my comfort zone – white water rafting (terrifying and brilliant in equal measure!), getting out on the water, miles and miles of walking and exploring somewhere completely new. And in between all that adventure, plenty of time to just sit back, relax, and properly reset.
I also made a point of getting to some classes myself while I was away – being on the other side of the mat as a student rather than the teacher. It’s something I think is so important to do, even after all these years of teaching. It reminds me what it feels like to walk in not knowing quite what to expect, and it always brings something new back into how I teach.
Now I’m home and easing back into routine, and I know so many of you will be feeling the same after your own summer travels – whether that’s jet lag, a change of scenery, or just life getting delightfully disrupted for a while!
So this week on the mat, we’ll be gently rebuilding – finding our rhythm again, reconnecting with our breath and our bodies, and easing back into practice without any pressure to be “back to it” overnight. Wherever you’re starting from this week, you’re exactly where you need to be. 🧘♀️😊🧘🙏🏻🧘♂️
