🌍💜 International Day of Charity – 5th September 💜🌍

Today we pause to reflect on the power of giving. Charity is not always about money—it can be a kind word, a listening ear, a moment of compassion, or simply standing beside someone in their grief.

At Silent Footprints, we are reminded daily of how powerful community can be. Together, we honour babies gone too soon, support families through unimaginable loss, and create a space where love is never forgotten.

On this International Day of Charity, we invite you to:
✨ Light a candle in memory of a little one 💫
✨ Share a kind word with someone who may be struggling 💫
✨ Support our mission by spreading awareness of baby loss 💫

Every act of charity—big or small—ripples out to touch hearts in ways we may never fully see. 💜

Something we never want to think of ever having to need yet families walk this path every day and this gives them that chance for privacy and dignity.
Huge credibility and respect to 4Louis for commissioning and providing these.. if you’ve been one of our service users you’ll already know the name that brings you your memory boxes and they do so much more.
Thank you for helping so many of us 4Louis 🩷💙

✨ **WE ARE FINALISTS!** ✨

We are absolutely delighted to share that our Wave of Light Remembrance Walk has been named a finalist in the Diversity Event Award at the Diverse Cumbria Awards 2026!🏆

The Wave of Light is a very special event that brings people together in remembrance, reflection and support, creating a space where families and individuals can come together and remember babies and children who are no longer with us. 🕯️💛

To have this event recognised for its contribution to diversity, inclusion and community means so much to everyone involved.

A huge thank you to everyone who has walked with us, supported us, volunteered, shared our message and helped make the Wave of Light the meaningful event that it is.

We’re incredibly proud to be finalists — and whatever happens on the night, this recognition belongs to every person who has been part of our journey.

Carlisle Wednesday 12th August we have our north supportive meet on at Carlisle Eden Mind.
6:30pm - 8pm
Our supportive meet is very informal and supportive.. Drop in or stay for the duration.

Have a cuppa and a chat with others, who have also experienced loss at any stage of miscarriage, medical termination, still birth, infant loss, IVF grief. Etc. or just sit in a safe space to listen to others if that’s helpful for you at this time. No pressure at all.

Memory boxes available as well as our memorial tree to add your own tag. Plus self help books, support links, coping strategies and more.

Refreshments provided.
More info on our website: www.silentfootprintsfoundation.org
Or drop us a line.

Grief can be isolating, especially after miscarriage or baby loss. Our support session provides a non-judgemental environment where you can express your emotions, find support and connect with others who truly understand.

This is so sad. And so relatable. Today we are blessed to have cold cots to enable us to hold our babies for longer so that we don’t have to let go until we are ready.
And when you are ready to talk, the Silent Footprints team are always here. 🩷💙

Today, on National Bereaved Parents Day, we stand with every parent carrying the love of a child who they couldn’t take home.

Whether your loss was through miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, TFMR, stillbirth, neonatal or infant loss, your grief matters, your baby matters, and you matter.

At Silent Footprints Foundation, no matter how recent your loss or how many years have passed, you will always find compassion, understanding and a safe place to be heard.

🤍 Because every footprint leaves a forever mark on our hearts.

🩷 7 years of Silent Footprints 💙
From something that started out of a conversation of a support gap that was missing for people after their loss at any stage of miscarriage & baby loss and how there was nothing for myself when I suffered, the first meet took place and something had started.

And I have so many thank yous to give..

With the help, support and funding from Cumberland Council (then Cumbria County Council) and Always Another Way the support sessions were launched. Since then the support has grown to both west and north Cumbria with thanks to Carlisle Eden Mind and TTC Community Centre.
We have evolved into supportive sessions, giving out memory boxes, chaperoning at loss Crem services and appointments, creative memory sessions, memorial tree for your angel tags, joining global events for the wave of light with ceremonial walks round the harbour, bereaved dads playing football for men’s mental health tournaments at Carlisle United Football Club.

I’m so happy to have the help of my team of volunteers and trustees both on front line and in background support, we couldn’t do it without you.
We don’t have funding for pay, we all do this voluntarily and use our own time and I’m so grateful as it’s very much needed and I couldn’t do it without you all.

I’m especially grateful for Jenn, my work wife, who helps keep this support and awareness work going and this is as much yours as it is mine and our babies legacy helping others. 🫶

Never suffer alone. We are here with a kind ear, just get in touch.

Love, light and well wishes
And huge thanks
