In today’s Breathwork Facilitator Training, we have been learning about Mantra and Breathwork with Alex Mrowicki .
I love bringing this session into the training because mantra is really one of the oldest forms of breathwork we know, passed down through thousands of years of guru lineages and spiritual practice.
Long before modern neuroscience, people understood that breath, sound and repetition could shift consciousness, regulate emotion, deepen connection and create profound states of healing, devotion and transformation.
More recently mantra has also been explained by neuroscience, helping us understand more about how different mantras, rhythms and breath patterns can affect the brain and nervous system in different ways.
We can now see how practices involving breath, sound, vibration and repetition may support nervous system regulation, focus, emotional processing, meditation states and even feelings of connection and safety.
I have also personally found (as have many other people for 1000s of years!) that they also contain a sacred power that cannot be defined by science took.
A power that can only be experienced through the practice.
If you’re interested in exploring the power of mantra yourself, please feel free to sign up for the free 44 Day Shiva Mantra Practice with Alex and me, starting on Sunday.
This is a free offering to share the power of these practices and create a collective intention for peace, love and healing.
There is also the option to donate to Peace Direct for anyone who would like to support the spreading of peace in practical ways too.
