Our new Men’s Support Network offers a welcoming, supportive space to explore mental health and wellbeing with others.

Each week, we’ll talk about a different topic, looking at how it can affect our lives, relationships and emotions. Conversations are shaped by the people in the room, and you’re welcome to share as much or as little as you feel comfortable with.

Sue started her career at Catalyst Support as a volunteer.

And this month, we are proud to be celebrating 25 years with Sue 🎊

That’s 25 years of giving back, and supporting hundreds of people in our Surrey community towards better mental health.

Sue has worked alongside many colleagues and former CEO’s and has been leading the charity for the past 8 years!

‘Looking back over 25 years at Catalyst Support, I feel incredibly proud of everything we have navigated together – the storms as well as the sunshine. What has always mattered most to me is providing stability and encouragement, and helping to create positive, life-changing moments for the people who use our services. It has been a privilege to work alongside so many committed colleagues and to play a part in making a difference to so many lives.’ - Sue.

Victoria Place in Woking is inviting the public to nominate a local charity and we’d love you to put forward Catalyst Support.

For over 35 years, we’ve supported people across Surrey with accessible, community-based mental health and wellbeing support.

Here in Woking, that includes our community groups, the Women’s Support Centre, Surrey, and our Safe Haven, offering professional, out-of-hours support to people experiencing a mental health crisis.

Being chosen would help us reach more adults across Surrey, raise awareness of the support available and make a positive difference in our community.

Our Pottery for Wellbeing course in Shepperton offers a relaxed space to unwind, connect with others and explore your creativity through clay.

Working with your hands can help you slow down, focus on the present and enjoy a sense of achievement as you make something of your own.

No previous pottery experience is needed. Come along, try something new and create at your own pace. 👐

Sober October can be a reminder that we don’t always know why someone has chosen not to drink.

They might be taking a break, looking after their mental health, changing their relationship with alcohol, or simply not want one tonight.

Whatever their reason, they deserve to feel comfortable saying no 💚

And if taking a break has prompted you to think about your own drinking or brought up feelings you’d like to explore, you don’t have to figure it out alone.

👉 Catalyst Counselling supports people with mental health concerns, as well as people affected by their own or a loved one’s drug or alcohol use.

A little recap 💚

Last week our team attended the Business in Surrey Expo at Mercedes-Benz World, meeting local businesses and organisations to talk about the vital mental health and wellbeing services we provide across Surrey.

We also joined the Action for Carers Surrey Fair at The Horton Arts Centre in Epsom, sharing information about our support and ended the week saying hello to University for the Creative Arts students and some special four-legged guests along the way! 🐾

These conversations matter. They help more people discover the support available and build connections with organisations that can help us make a difference.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, asked questions and took the time to learn about Catalyst Support. Mental health matters every day, and our local community has an important part to play.
