Ever Googled a symptom and somehow ended up convinced it’s something serious? πŸ“±πŸ˜Ÿ

Most of us worry about our health sometimes. But with health anxiety, those worries can become difficult to switch off and start taking up a lot of time and headspace.

You might find yourself constantly checking your body for symptoms, searching online for answers, asking other people for reassurance, or even avoiding doctors because you’re frightened about what they might say.

The difficult part is that checking and reassurance can make you feel better for a little while, but the worry often comes back again.

πŸ’™ If health worries are starting to take over your day, affect what you do or make it difficult to enjoy life, it’s worth talking to someone.

There are ways to manage health anxiety, and you don’t have to deal with those worries alone.

πŸ‘‰ Swipe through to learn more about health anxiety, some of the signs to look out for and things that can help.

Saying no doesn’t make you difficult. πŸ’™
Healthy boundaries help protect your time, energy and wellbeing, while making space for healthier relationships too.

It’s okay to know your limits and communicate them. Looking after yourself matters.

OCD in children can look different from what you might expect. πŸ’™

It isn’t always obvious, and it’s much more than simply liking things to be tidy or organised.

A child experiencing OCD may feel driven to repeat certain actions, ask the same questions for reassurance, avoid particular situations or become very distressed when routines change. They may also experience intrusive thoughts that feel frightening or upsetting.

These behaviours can sometimes be mistaken for fussiness, stubbornness or simply β€œa phase”, but for a child with OCD they can be driven by very real anxiety.

Recognising the signs is an important first step. If these behaviours are persistent, causing distress or interfering with everyday life, consider speaking to your GP or another appropriate professional for advice and support.

πŸ’™ Understanding what’s behind the behaviour can help us respond with compassion rather than frustration.

When your child is anxious, your first instinct might be to make the worry go away. ❀️

You might reassure them that everything will be fine, let them avoid something that feels scary, or step in to solve the problem for them. It comes from a place of love, but sometimes the most helpful response is to support them through the anxiety rather than remove it altogether.

Validating how they feel, helping them develop coping strategies, maintaining reassuring routines and gently building their confidence to face difficult situations can all help children learn that anxiety is something they can manage.

Small steps matter. What feels overwhelming today may become easier with time, patience and the right support.

And if anxiety is persistent, getting worse or beginning to affect school, friendships, sleep or everyday family life, professional support can help too.

πŸ‘‰ Swipe through for 5 ways you can support a child experiencing anxiety.

Back to school blues? πŸ’™

Getting back into the school routine after the summer break can feel like a lot. New classes, changing friendships, early mornings, homework and expectations can all take a little time to adjust to.

If you’re feeling anxious, overwhelmed or simply not quite ready to be back, give yourself some time. You don’t have to have everything figured out straight away.

Take things one day at a time, look after the basics and talk to someone you trust if things are feeling difficult. πŸ’™

And remember, asking for support is always okay.

πŸ’™ A simple idea that could make a real difference.

Loneliness can affect anyone, and sometimes just having somewhere to go and someone to talk to can help. We’re really pleased to see this happening here in Wokingham. 🫢

πŸ’œπŸ’šπŸ’œ WE ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS πŸ‘‡πŸ’œπŸ’šπŸ’œ

This town has some great initiatives to beat loneliness and the lastest ones comes from

πŸ‘‹Every week he will be hosting an event where anyone can come along and take a seat and have a genuine conversation with any of the attendees.

🫢It is a campaign to help battle loneliness and create a safe, friendly environment for people who may need it.

It will be happening every Wednesday at 7pm at The Broad Street Tavern.

πŸ™‚There are no set agendas or expectations. Just somewhere available if people need it. It is not counselling. Just genuine people looking to connect.

πŸŽ‰ **Congratulations to everyone receiving their GCSE results today!**

Whatever is written on that piece of paper, remember that your grades don't define you or everything you're capable of.

If you got the results you hoped for, celebrate them! πŸ₯³ And if things haven't gone quite to plan, there are still so many routes forward.
