Meet our Cancer Champions at Seisdon PCN! 💙

Recently, our Cancer Champions took part in a communication skills training session delivered by Compton Care.

The training focused on building confidence, improving conversations, and developing the skills needed to support patients with compassion, empathy, and understanding throughout their cancer journey.

We're incredibly proud of their commitment to learning and improving the care and support we provide across our communities. A big thank you to Compton Care for delivering such valuable training and helping our team make an even greater difference.

We were pleased to welcome our local MP, Mike Wood, to Lakeside Medical Centre on Monday.

During the visit, we discussed some of the issues affecting our patients, including access to services, waiting times, the availability of local services, and transport difficulties that can impact attendance at appointments.

The meeting was positive and constructive, providing an opportunity to share the experiences of our patients and staff. We look forward to continuing to engage with local stakeholders to support improvements in healthcare services and patient care.

GCSE results day is nearly here. If you are feeling anxious, why not text a School Nurse through our confidential text messaging service for 11–19-year-olds?

ChatHealth is a text message service (07520 615721) to ask for health and wellbeing advice and is available between 9am - 5pm, Monday to Friday. Outside of these times, anyone who texts the service receives a message explaining where to get help if their question is urgent, and when they can expect a response.

No appointment needed, no stress, just the help you need, right from your phone.

Here at Lakeside Medical Centre, we are very fortunate to introduce two new GP trainees!

Please give Dr Vafie Sheriff a warm welcome if you see him at the surgery.

Although he is in his first year of GP training, he brings valuable experience from his work in Global Health and Health Inequalities and has a particular interest in Women’s Health.

Outside of work, Dr Sheriff is a blue belt judoka and describes himself as a lucky husband and proud dad.

Afternoon Tea Success! ☕️

On Wednesday, Seisdon Primary Care Network and the GP surgeries of Perton worked in collaboration with The Church at Perton to host a fantastic afternoon tea in aid of Breast Cancer Now.

A huge thank you to our community for your generous donations of money and cakes, The Church at Perton for providing the venue, local businesses for their tombola prizes and other donations, and everyone who came along to enjoy a hot drink and a chat. We also welcomed our local MP, Mike Wood.

Together, we raised an amazing £616 for Breast Cancer Now! 🎉

We are delighted to welcome our new trainee GP, Dr Asram Munir, to Lakeside Medical Centre.

Dr Munir has recently started her GP training journey and will be with us for the next four months.
