There are so many questions that run through your head before your first Hollywood laser appointment, so let’s answer the ones women don’t always want to ask out loud…

Yes. Vulvas are a bit like faces. We all have the same basic anatomy, but they come in completely different shapes, sizes, colours and proportions. There isn’t one way yours is supposed to look.

Of course intimate areas have a natural scent, and that scent can change at different times of the month. If you’re worrying about being clean before your appointment, chances are you’ve already thought about your hygiene! Being clean and having a natural scent are two completely different things.

Wipes are always available and, more importantly, you get complete privacy to get yourself ready before I come into the room.

Yes, if that’s what you want. A Hollywood can include all suitable hair-bearing external intimate areas.

But it’s your laser and your choice. Want to leave some hair? Absolutely. Don’t want a particular area treated? We don’t treat it. You decide what comes off, not me.

Yes. It’s a va**na. Bodily fluids are NORMAL.

If you’re on your period and it’s appropriate for you, you can wear a tampon. Other normal secretions aren’t something you need to apologise or feel embarrassed about.

I’m wearing gloves and we’re using gel during treatment. Trust me, I’m concentrating on your hair and your skin, not inspecting your va**na.

Not long at all. You’ll have a towel over you and we’ll only uncover what we need to treat.

You’re not going to spend half an hour lying there with your va**na on display. 😂 The actual laser part is super quick.

I’m not going to lie and tell you that you’ll feel absolutely nothing.

I use plenty of cooling on intimate areas so I can treat effectively while keeping your skin protected and staying within safe treatment parameters.

There may be a few areas where you feel that sharp little SNAP, particularly where the hair is stronger.

And then it’s gone. Done. Finished. You survived.

So, what have I learned?

That I’m actually really good at what I do.

That I don’t like bu****it. Never have. Probably never will.

That I’m s**t at replying… unless I’m replying 😂
Then you’ll get 14 messages, 3 voice notes and probably a completely unrelated thought.

That I worry far too much about things that usually work themselves out anyway.

That AI isn’t going to replace me.

But it IS making a lot of people look very good at things they don’t actually know how to do. No offence 👀😂

That experience matters.

You can copy a caption.
You can copy an advert.
You can copy someone’s content.

But you can’t copy 11 years of actually doing the job, making mistakes, learning, treating thousands of clients, changing things, getting better and turning up again.

And probably the biggest thing I’ve learned?

I’m grateful.

Grateful for the clients who’ve trusted me.
The students who’ve trained with me.
The people who recommend me.
The ones who’ve been here from the beginning.
And even the lessons that were an absolute pain in the arse at the time.

The funny thing is, I’ve spent 11 years becoming an expert in laser hair removal… not becoming an expert in reels, algorithms and finding the perfect hook 😂

I got into laser because I genuinely love getting results for my clients.

After lasering thousands of clients, this is the bit I’m good at.

Understanding the hair.
Understanding the skin.
Knowing the right settings.
And knowing that laser isn’t just about getting rid of hair.

For some women, it’s finally getting rid of the shaving rash.
