Myth: “I Can’t Get Pregnant If I’m on My Period”

S***m can survive in the body for up to five days, and if you ovulate soon after your period ends, there’s a risk of pregnancy.

It's Mental Health Awareness Week.

Your overall mental well-being can positively or negatively impact your sexual health. Ultimately, your feelings, whether good or bad, play a significant role in intimacy, sexual arousal and satisfaction.

If you're stressed, anxious, low or feel that your mental health is affecting your sexual health, the best way to get help is to talk to a GP or someone at a sexual health clinic.

Florence popped by to see Nurse Lovejoy Guinto, HIV Clinical Nurse Specialist Lead, she said:

“I became a Nurse to stand beside people whose health needs are often misunderstood or overlooked. My 31 year journey has taken me from the Philippines to Spain and now the UK — and each country I’ve served in has deepened my understanding of what true caring means.

“For the past 15 years, I’ve dedicated myself to HIV Nursing, where compassion, dignity and empowerment change lives every day.”
