As some parts of the UK are set to experience a warm one today, we're proud to support the Children's Burns Trust in raising awareness of the importance of sun safety.
The charity's latest data shows that severe sunburn injuries to children increased by 46.5% in 2025 compared to 2024. These are not minor sunburns – they are serious injuries requiring treatment in Specialist Burns Units.
Severe sunburn can cause significant pain, long-term damage and, in some cases, require specialist medical care. That's why it's so important to take simple steps to protect children while they're enjoying the warmer weather.
☀️ Seek shade during the hottest part of the day
🧢 Cover up with hats, lightweight clothing and sunglasses
🧴 Apply and regularly reapply high-factor sunscreen
Together with the Children's Burns Trust and RoSPA , we're helping to raise awareness of preventable burn injuries and encourage families to stay safe in the sun.
