🏃♂️ Do you keep picking up niggly running injuries?
No matter how much you change your pace, running style or training plan, do the injuries just keep coming back?
It might be time to look beyond your running.
Try these simple tests:
✅ Single-leg calf raise off a step, aiming for 25–30 reps
✅ Single-leg elevated hamstring bridge, aiming for 25–30 reps
✅ Single-leg squat to a bench, aiming for 25–30 reps
✅ Side plank hold, aiming for 60–90 seconds
If you're struggling to hit these targets, it could highlight areas of weakness or reduced muscular endurance that may be contributing to recurring injuries.
Running alone doesn't always build the strength needed to cope with the demands of running. Incorporating a structured strength training programme alongside your running can improve these scores, increase your resilience, and help reduce the likelihood of both recurring and new injuries.
Remember, these tests aren't a diagnosis, but they can be a useful starting point to identify areas that may need some extra attention.
