Happy Monday Dynamic Followers 😀
Wrexham Ink are holding a Fundraising Tattoo Day in memory of their friend and our ex-staff member, Rob Lafferty. Our staffing team have very fond memories of working with Rob and are delighted to hear about this event in his memory.
Nick at the studio shared 'I met Rob over thirty years ago when he came into our studio to get tattooed, he would soon become a regular customer and friend to all of us. One of the first tattoos Rob got was a small Wizard on his forearm. From that day he was given the nickname Rob Wizard.
Rob quickly became one of the families closest friends, he traveled with us to tattoo conventions up and down the country, music gigs and festivals, he was always at any parties we held and even spent Christmas with us after his beloved mum passed away.
Rob worked for the Council working outside on the gardens and loved being outside but unfortunately this affected his health and he had to leave this job, the councils loss was our gain and he came to work for us at Wrexham Ink where he was loved and cherished.
It was while he worked with us he met the love of his life Sharon who is one of the Wrexham Ink family, their love was pure and genuine.
Rob always did a lot of charity work including taking disabled children to Lourdes in France and many other places, he decided to dedicate his work life to doing charity work and went to work for Dynamic in Wrexham after volunteering for them for many years.
Rob’s health became increasingly worse over the years and he had severe trouble with his breathing but this didn’t stop him from going to Liverpool games with Sharon, however he was put on the list for lung transplants and needed oxygen to get around, he would still visit us at Wrexham Ink and we all loved seeing him and laughing and joking around with him.
The last time he came to the shop he spent all day with us and we had a fantastic day, that evening we got a call from him say that he had a donor which we all thought was a great thing to hear.
Rob had his transplants but unfortunately this led to lots of time in hospital and him being sick a lot of the time. Although we did get to see him, his days of festivals and traveling were behind him and his life was severely impacted but he never let it change him and his sense of humour was still as sharp as ever. Rob sadly lost his fight for life on 25/01/2025.'
The Tattoo Day will be held on Sept 13th at the Wrexham Ink Studio where a team of artists will each carefully create individual outline tattoos, including a Dynamic logo (designs attached). These sessions cost £30 and appointments must be booked in advance.
There is also a raffle being held and tickets are available to purchase direct from Wrexham Ink, as well as a Go Fund me page for those who'd like to donate but don't fancy a tattoo or raffle ticket.
To book or for more information please contact Nick or Jaq on 01978 290876.
