Happy Monday Dynamic Followers 😀

Wrexham Ink are holding a Fundraising Tattoo Day in memory of their friend and our ex-staff member, Rob Lafferty. Our staffing team have very fond memories of working with Rob and are delighted to hear about this event in his memory.

Nick at the studio shared 'I met Rob over thirty years ago when he came into our studio to get tattooed, he would soon become a regular customer and friend to all of us. One of the first tattoos Rob got was a small Wizard on his forearm. From that day he was given the nickname Rob Wizard.

Rob quickly became one of the families closest friends, he traveled with us to tattoo conventions up and down the country, music gigs and festivals, he was always at any parties we held and even spent Christmas with us after his beloved mum passed away.

Rob worked for the Council working outside on the gardens and loved being outside but unfortunately this affected his health and he had to leave this job, the councils loss was our gain and he came to work for us at Wrexham Ink where he was loved and cherished.

It was while he worked with us he met the love of his life Sharon who is one of the Wrexham Ink family, their love was pure and genuine.

Rob always did a lot of charity work including taking disabled children to Lourdes in France and many other places, he decided to dedicate his work life to doing charity work and went to work for Dynamic in Wrexham after volunteering for them for many years.

Rob’s health became increasingly worse over the years and he had severe trouble with his breathing but this didn’t stop him from going to Liverpool games with Sharon, however he was put on the list for lung transplants and needed oxygen to get around, he would still visit us at Wrexham Ink and we all loved seeing him and laughing and joking around with him.

The last time he came to the shop he spent all day with us and we had a fantastic day, that evening we got a call from him say that he had a donor which we all thought was a great thing to hear.

Rob had his transplants but unfortunately this led to lots of time in hospital and him being sick a lot of the time. Although we did get to see him, his days of festivals and traveling were behind him and his life was severely impacted but he never let it change him and his sense of humour was still as sharp as ever. Rob sadly lost his fight for life on 25/01/2025.'

The Tattoo Day will be held on Sept 13th at the Wrexham Ink Studio where a team of artists will each carefully create individual outline tattoos, including a Dynamic logo (designs attached). These sessions cost £30 and appointments must be booked in advance.

There is also a raffle being held and tickets are available to purchase direct from Wrexham Ink, as well as a Go Fund me page for those who'd like to donate but don't fancy a tattoo or raffle ticket.

To book or for more information please contact Nick or Jaq on 01978 290876.

Please help us thank the incredible Jimmy Lea and Andy Williams for their brave efforts this weekend. Of all the weekends to take on a 100+ mile trek, the weather certainly did not make it easy.

As you know, sadly Andy pulled out approx. 30 miles in due to illness. Well, sadly Jimmy too had to withdraw due to the weather causing huge issues for his poor feet. Jimmy reluctantly called it a day at approx. 90 miles as he could simply go no further. At this point he had been walking for roughly 40 hours and had been without sleep for approx. 56 hours.

Both are bitterly disappointed, but their health and well-being takes priority over fundraising and we are very grateful that they each listened to their bodies and stopped when absolutely necessary.

Their donation pages are still open should anybody wish to sponsor their incredible efforts. Thank you so much Jimmy and Andy, we hope you feel better and rested very soon.

Please give a big shout out to Jimmy and Andy who have faced the most hideous weather conditions on their walk from Wrexham to Caernarfon 😩☔️⛈️

Sadly Andy has had to withdraw due to illness and we wish him all the very best and hope he feels better all. So this means that Jimmy plods on alone. He is currently in Prestatyn and has at least another 50 miles to go!!!!

Please share your encouraging words as he really needs these right now! ❤️🧡💛

Next Screening: 10am, Sunday 30th August

ODEON Cinemas Eagles Meadow offer an Autism Friendly film screening monthly, usually on the 3rd Sunday of each month. The August film is Moana.

Odeon tell us that for Autism Friendly screenings they:
- Keep the house lights on throughout the film
- Lower the audio volume
- Remove the advertisements and trailers before the film
- Open the cinema doors early so guests have time to get used to the surroundings

They also say they choose family films accessible for all.

Book your ticket at the cinema for the next showing or via the Odeon website: https://www.odeon.co.uk/accessibility/autism-friendly/

Happy Tuesday Dynamic Followers 😀

Not long ago we shared the story of Jimmy and Andy who had taken on the incredible Peak District Challenge, well the guys are at it again with another crazy challenge!

This Friday 28th August, they will begin their journey from outside The Turf, Mold Road, Wrexham and walk approx 100 miles non-stop to Caernarfon. They will be walking through North Wales, taking in places including Chester, Flint, Conwy, Llanfairfechan and Bangor before finishing their journey.

The walk is expected to take over 40 hours and the plan is to complete the whole distance without stopping for sleep, so it will definitely be another major test of endurance.

Please get behind Jimmy and Andy by sharing your messages of good luck, liking and sharing their endeavours and if you can, by donating to their challenge, no matter how small.

Thanks so much everyone and good luck guys, we will be following your journey and willing you on.
