💫 This may not be a popular opinion…
…but so many of us are completely overwhelmed and something has to give!
It might be your house, your work, your kids, your health… where are your priorities?
Are you letting society dictate what they are or should be? Instead of following your inner values and truths - and living a less busy, calmer and healthier life?
With me working part time we sure don’t go on as many holidays as others, we have one old car currently (before that my own car was practically vintage 😂) but I definitely get a better balance for our family.
I still get overwhelmed and a little anxious (nowhere near what I used to) but it took getting really sick for me to see that wasn’t the way.
I know, deep within me, that if I hadn’t been burned out I wouldn’t have got along COVID. My body had nothing left. No resources to heal.
It’s taken 6 years to claw back up - and I have. And I’m grateful, and determined that I will always prioritize fresh air and getting my kids to activities over cleaning - so my house (as lovely as it is) will never be a showhome.
As my friends and I say “take me how you find me” if you judge my house, I’d rather not be your friend anyway 😂
Stop setting ridiculous goals for yourself and focus a bit more on small steps to wellbeing - both mental and physical.
