🧶 The Witch’s Ladder of Nine
The Witch’s Ladder is an old magic-inspired practice of weaving nine knots into a cord, with each knot holding a word, wish, intention or piece of energy you wish to carry with you.
You will need:
A length of natural cord, ribbon or wool
A quiet space
A candle if you wish
Nine intentions or words that mean something to you
Begin your ritual 🕯️
Light your candle and take a few quiet breaths. Hold your cord in your hands and think about what you wish to invite into your life.
Then, slowly tie nine knots, focusing on one intention with each knot.
One — for new beginnings.
Two — for strength.
Three — for healing.
Four — for protection.
Five — for love.
Six — for abundance.
Seven — for wisdom.
Eight — for courage.
Nine — for your deepest intention.
As you tie each knot, pause and imagine that intention becoming firmly woven into your journey.
When the ninth knot is tied, hold the ladder between your hands and say:
“Nine knots woven, nine intentions spoken,
What I seek within, may it awaken.
With heart and spirit, I set it free,
May what is meant for me find its way to me.
So mote it be.”
Keep your Witch’s Ladder somewhere meaningful — beside your altar, beneath your pillow, or tucked safely away.
And remember… the magic isn't only in the cord. It is in the intention, the focus, and the meaning you give to every knot. 🌙✨
