September doesn’t have to be a month of doing more 🍂

Let it be a month of coming back to yourself. Gently, slowly and without the pressure to have it all figured out.

A new month can be a reset without becoming another set of expectations.

At the end of the day, your life changes when you decide to take responsibility for it.

No one can do the inner work for you 🦋

Sitting in this chair for the first time is a quiet act of courage.

Stepping into therapy means setting down the roles you play for everyone else, the caretaker, the problem-solver, the strong one and allowing yourself to simply be.

What taking this seat actually means:

Unconditional Acceptance: You don't need to edit your thoughts or organize your feelings. Bring your grief, confusion, anger, or silence—all of it is safe from judgment.

An Intentional Pause: A rare space designed entirely for your internal world, where curiosity replaces self-criticism.

A Shared Journey: You are the expert on your life; therapy provides the tools, perspective, and support so you don't have to carry it alone.

Taking this seat doesn't mean you are broken—it means your well-being matters 🤍

Dolly ❤️

Dolly Parton showed us that true greatness isn’t just about what you achieve, it’s about how many people you lift along the way.
Her kindness, generosity and love for others have touched countless lives.

A beautiful reminder that helping people is one of the greatest legacies we can leave 🌸

Here is a reminder your brain needs to hear today: Your survival rate for tough days is currently 100%.

You don't need to know exactly how you'll get through the next week, month, or year. You just need to handle the next small step.

🦋 3 Grounding Steps for Overwhelming Days

Acknowledge the feeling without judgment: Remind yourself, "This is just a hard moment, not a hard life."

Shrink your focus: Stop looking at the entire mountain. Ask yourself what you need right now to get through the next 10 minutes (a glass of water, a quiet room, 5 deep breaths).

Look at your evidence: Take a second to remember a time in the past when you thought you couldn't handle a situation, but you did anyway. You are far more resilient than your anxious thoughts give you credit for.

Save this for the days when you feel like giving up, or share it with someone who needs a gentle reminder today 🧠✨

This photo was taken almost ten years ago, alongside my mum and my daughter ❤️ when I graduated as an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist.

And in October 2016, I opened the doors to my own private practice 🦋

✨️ As I approach ten years in practice, I’ve been reflecting on what this work continues to teach me about wellbeing.

• Wellbeing isn’t about having everything figured out, or feeling positive all the time.
Sometimes it’s simply about slowing down, listening to what we need, setting gentle boundaries, allowing ourselves to rest and knowing when to reach out for support 🫶

• Life can be challenging and we all move through seasons when we need a little more care, understanding and compassion 🍂

♡ It has been a privilege to share in so many people’s journeys over the years, witnessing growth, change, healing and all those small but meaningful moments in between when someone begins to see themselves differently.

Ten years qualified and almost ten years in private practice. Still learning, still growing and still believing deeply in the importance of making space for our wellbeing 🤍

Acceptance doesn’t mean you like what happened.

It doesn’t mean you agree with it, or that you stop wanting things to be different.

Sometimes acceptance simply means saying:

“This is where I am right now. This is what happened. I don’t have to keep fighting the reality of it.”

We can make space for disappointment, grief, uncertainty and still choose to move forward.

Acceptance isn’t giving up.

It’s letting go of the exhausting battle with what cannot be changed, so you can put your energy into what can.

You can accept the moment without accepting that it will always be this way 🤍
