We would like to wish our two students Jacqueline & Elsa a fond farewell, as they finish their work experience and return to in Sunhill Nursing Home and return home to Spain. We wish them all the best in the future.

And they’re off……….

Our 14 athletes and 3 coaches headed off this morning to the Irish Games. Thanks to all the supporters who came out to wish them well and a special thanks to our Mayor Declan Power for his great words of encouragement.

🌼 Celebrating Our 4th Daisy Award & Inaugural BEE Award! 🐝

Today we had such a meaningful moment at Sunhill as we celebrated our 4th Daisy Award and our first BEE Award recipients!

We were delighted that our newly elected Mayor, Declan Power and Frances Rogers IPC outreach link, from our Lady of Lourdes could join us and present the awards, as well as our regional HR manager Sandra Hannon and Regional operations manager, Catherine Condon.

These awards today recognise the extraordinary compassion, dedication, and exceptional care our team members bring to our residents every single day. The Daisy Award honours those nurses who truly embody the heart of nursing going above and beyond, bringing warmth and humanity to every interaction, and making a real difference in residents’ lives.

And now, celebrating our first BEE Award, we’re acknowledging even deeper commitment to excellence, innovation, and creating a culture of care that makes Sunhill such a special place with all our departments. “A daisy cannot survive without the BEE”

Our residents and families notice. They feel it. They trust us because of staff like our award recipients, the ones who show up with genuine kindness, skilled hands, and hearts fully present.

So proud to work alongside such dedicated, compassionate colleagues. Thank you for reminding us every day why this work matters. We started two new activities this week.
Crochet circle for the ladies with the help of Joan & Shakira from Clogherhead Womens Shed.

The next was scribble art which helps reduce tension / stress and aids relaxation .Great trying something new.

On Friday we welcomed Vicky Mc Ginn physiotherapist DPRC Drogheda Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation Clinic - Vikki McGinnto our monthly Dementia Cafe.

Vicky discussed with the residents how gentle movement is one of the best ways to support physical health , mood ,& overall well being .

Simple activities like stretching & chair based exercises can maintain strength , balance & confidence.

Afterwards we shared tea , conversations & a few laughs

" Movement nourishes the body & connection nourishes the spirit "
