Grip strength is one of the simplest tests we run — and one of the most telling. Three rounds per side, squeezing as hard as possible, to get a true average reading in kilograms.

This test came back well above general population norms, with the dominant right hand noticeably stronger than the left. It's a good example of how testing turns "I think I'm strong" into an actual number you can track over time.

Curious what your grip strength says about your overall strength and health? That's exactly the kind of thing we assess on the gym floor.

What people don't realize when they come to RAPID 👇

It's not just physio. It's not just strength and conditioning. It's both — combined.

In the early stages of rehab, you've got a real window to load tissues properly — your hamstring, your rotator cuff — while it's still relatively easy to focus on just one or two things. As you progress, you're juggling a strength stream, a power stream, and your rehab stream all at once — and how we shape that, program it, and communicate it matters.

Here's where physio can fall short on its own: doing the low-level exercises, but not progressing them enough, and not asking the real question — how good is good enough?

That's why we believe in marrying both skill sets. Not just rehabbing the injury — building you back stronger than before. 💪

Why we don't just hand you a list of exercises 👇

If you've had shoulder pain for a while — maybe you've already tried physio, maybe you've already tried exercises and they didn't help — this is why.

It's not about giving you 10 exercises and hoping something sticks. We'd rather give you 2-3 that actually move the needle, and take the time to explain:

✅ Why you're doing it
✅ How to do it properly
✅ What you should feel
✅ How to know if something's not right, and what to change

That's what we mean by "packaging" an exercise. When you understand the *why* behind your rehab, it means something — and that's when progress actually happens.

Not every calf strain is just a calf strain.

A runner came to us convinced he'd pulled his calf.

The symptoms seemed to fit. But after listening carefully to his story, carrying out a detailed assessment and following up with imaging, we discovered something much more significant—a fibular stress fracture alongside the calf strain.

That completely changed the rehabilitation plan.

This is why getting an accurate diagnosis is so important. Treating the wrong injury doesn't just delay recovery—it can make things worse.

At RAPID, we don't just look at where it hurts. We look at the whole picture to make sure you're following the right path back to full performance.

The best rehabilitation starts with understanding—not just treatment.

A successful rehab plan isn't something that's done to you. It's something that's built with you.

If you leave your appointment unsure of your diagnosis or what the plan is, we've missed one of the most important parts of the process.

At RAPID, we believe rehabilitation is a partnership.

Through every conversation, movement assessment and strength test, we're learning together—so you understand what's happening, why it's happening, and exactly how we're going to get you back to doing what you love.

When you understand your injury, you're in a much better position to overcome it.

A great rehabilitation plan starts long before the first exercise.

One of the biggest misconceptions about physiotherapy is that treatment begins on the treatment table.

It doesn't.

It starts with asking the right questions.

✔️ How did the injury happen?
✔️ What movements make it worse?
✔️ What are your goals?
✔️ What do we think is actually causing the problem?

Only then can we carry out a detailed assessment to understand how you move, identify the root cause and build a rehabilitation plan that's specific to you.

Because successful rehabilitation isn't guesswork—it's built on a thorough assessment and an accurate diagnosis.

You can't skip steps in rehabilitation.

One of the biggest reasons people struggle to fully recover is because they try to jump straight to the finish line.

You might be working on sprinting before you've rebuilt your strength.

Or trying to return to sport before you've mastered the basics.

At RAPID, we use our Rehabilitation Framework because every stage builds on the one before it. If the foundations aren't solid, everything above them becomes unstable.

The goal isn't just getting back to sport—it's getting back stronger, with the confidence that your body is ready for the demands ahead

The biggest mistake in groin rehabilitation? Rushing the process.

Too often, people try to return to running, sprinting or playing sport before they've built the foundations.

At RAPID, we follow a structured rehabilitation process:

✅ Build strength and control
✅ Progress to dynamic movements like jumping, hopping and landing
✅ Develop running and sprinting capacity
✅ Reintroduce change of direction
✅ Return to training and competition with confidence

Rehabilitation isn't about doing random exercises. Every exercise should solve a specific problem identified during your assessment.

The stronger your foundation, the better your outcome.

What does effective injury rehabilitation actually look like?
In the new RAPID podcast episode, we break down the RAPID Rehabilitation Framework—the step-by-step process our physiotherapists use to guide people from injury and pain back to strength, confidence and performance.

Across the episode, we explore each stage of the framework:

🔴 Diagnose
🟠 Initiate
🟡 Progress
🟢 Accumulate
🔵 Return

From understanding the injury and choosing the right starting point to building strength, managing load and preparing for a safe return to sport or everyday life, every stage has a purpose.

Because successful rehabilitation isn't about rushing back or simply becoming pain-free. It's about following a clear process and making sure you're prepared for the demands you want to return to.

Strong groins alone won't fix groin pain.

One of the biggest mistakes we see is people focusing on just one part of the puzzle.

Successful rehabilitation comes down to three key ingredients:

💪 Strength – Build strength in all the muscles surrounding the groin, not just the painful area.

🏃 Movement – Learn to move well so your body can distribute load efficiently and avoid overloading the groin.

📈 Load Management – Progress gradually. Your body needs time to adapt to running, jumping, changing direction and returning to sport.

You can't expect to play a full match if you haven't rebuilt the foundations first.

At RAPID, we take a step-by-step approach to athletic groin pain—building strength, improving movement, and progressively increasing load so you can return to sport with confidence.
