Important Patient Information: Industrial Action
A national strike taking place on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 will impact services at our hospital and clinics in the community.

We respect the right of staff to participate in lawful industrial action and appreciate the understanding of our patients and community during this time.

Patients are asked not to attend a scheduled appointment unless they have been contacted and advised to do so. Our teams are working to identify and contact patients who need to attend.

If your appointment is affected, we will make every effort to reschedule it as quickly as possible.

We ask for your patience and understanding as we work to maintain essential services. Patients who require urgent or emergency care should continue to attend or seek medical assistance as appropriate.

Please note that unless the planned nationwide industrial action is cancelled in the coming days, the Hospital may regretfully need to reschedule outpatient and elective activity scheduled for Wednesday, October 14th. Note this includes appointments for bloods / scans and x-rays.

These messages are scams. We will never ask you by text message to make a payment or provide your bank details.
If you receive a suspicious message:

• Don't share your personal or banking information.
• Delete the message.
If you believe you've been targeted by fraud, contact your bank immediately and report it to your local Gardaí

This project from Critical Care and the Physiotherapy Department was awarded funding of €10,000 from TUHF as part of our Ignite for Impact initiative. The main objective of the project is to offer suitable patients virtual reality rehabilitation (VRR) for up to three sessions whilst they are in critical care. TUHF recently facilitated the purchase of two new MOTOmeds to further expand the intra-dialytic exercise programme in the Physiotherapy Department - Renal Service. This project has increased capacity for patients to engage in intradialytic exercise.
