MBBS doctors serving under mandatory government service bonds staged a protest at Lucknow’s GPO on Tuesday, demanding equal pay for equal work.

Doctors highlighted reported salary disparities of up to ₹50,000 among those serving under similar bond conditions and announced an indefinite work boycott.

Why should bonded doctors with similar qualifications and responsibilities be paid differently?

Reportedly, bonded doctors in some government medical colleges receive around ₹1 lakh per month, while others are paid only ₹50,000 despite similar qualifications and bond obligations.

Why should doctors performing similar duties receive unequal pay?
