A Memorable Experience at SRS India 2026 🤖
It was a great pleasure to be part of SRS India 2026, held recently in New Delhi. The conference brought together many leading robotic surgeons from India and around the world.
I had the opportunity to show our experience in robotic kidney transplantation and also chair one of the scientific sessions. It was a wonderful platform to share our experience and learn from others.
From Max Hospital - we telecasted three surgeries. Dr Vipul Patel from Florida demonstrated robotic radical prostatectomy and Dr. Senthil Nathan from Cleveland Clinic London demonstrated robotic partial nephrectomy.
I also had the opportunity to demonstrate a robotic partial nephrectomy of a very complex, completely endophytic Kidney tumour and salvage the kidney.
The entire experience was very enriching. It was not only about the technology and surgery, but also about meeting colleagues, sharing knowledge and learning from each other.
Grateful to all the faculty, colleagues and team members who made SRS India 2026 such a memorable learning experience.
Robotic surgery is moving fast, and it is important that we continue to learn, share and grow together.

HIFU vs Prostate Cancer Surgery: Can HIFU Replace Surgery?
# # # HIFU vs Radical Prostatectomy: What’s the Difference? 🎯

Can **HIFU replace prostate cancer surgery?** The answer depends on the individual patient and the characteristics of the cancer.

🔵 **HIFU (High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound)** does not remove the entire prostate. Focused ultrasound energy is used to ablate a selected cancerous area, making it a form of focal/ablative therapy.

🔴 **Radical Prostatectomy** involves surgically removing the prostate gland with the aim of treating localized prostate cancer.

Importantly, **HIFU is not a universal replacement for radical prostatectomy.** Patient selection matters, and focal therapies are not generally recommended for high-risk or locally advanced prostate cancer outside clinical trials.

The right treatment depends on factors such as the **location and extent of cancer, grade, stage, PSA, imaging, biopsy findings and individual patient factors.**

👉 **In medicine, the patient comes first—not the machine.**

Underactive Bladder to Normal Urination: SNM Changed Her Life ❤️

A patient suffering from an **underactive bladder** was unable to pass urine normally and had become dependent on **self-catheterization 3–4 times a day**. Recurrent infections and catheter dependence were significantly affecting her work and everyday life.

After learning about **Sacral Neuromodulation (SNM)**, she travelled to **Max Super Speciality Hospital, Saket** seeking an advanced treatment option.

Following SNM, she shares a remarkable improvement in her experience — from passing only **10–50 ml of urine at times** to being able to pass around **300 ml on her own**, and now urinating several times a day without the same dependence on catheterization. ❤️

She also describes the procedure and recovery as comfortable, with minimal concern from the implanted device in her daily life.

Her message to others facing similar bladder problems is simple: **be aware that treatment options may be available, and speak to a specialist rather than silently living with the condition.**

Presented three papers on Robotic Kidney Tx at The International Transplantation Society meeting at Sydney from 20th to 23th Sept. conference. Our papers were appreciated & many transplant surgeons showed interest in visiting our centre to see how we do it.
Conference highlight was the advancement made in xenotransplantation. Few kidney & heart patient who received organs from transgenic pig & have lived for few months to one year. One patient is still doing well one years after kidney Tx from a pig kidney.
It was impressive to see the remarkable growth of donation after cardiac (DCD) around the world.
The conference also featured several important advances across different aspects of organ transplantation. The continued growth and innovation in this field is truly remarkable.
We look forward to bringing these academic learnings and global perspectives into our ongoing work in kidney transplantation and robotic surgery.

Kidney Stone Ka Pain Itna Severe Kyun Hota Hai? 😣

Kidney stone ka pain itna severe kyun hota hai ki patient ko emergency tak jana pad sakta hai?

Interesting baat ye hai ki kidney mein pada stone kabhi-kabhi bilkul pain nahi karta. Severe pain usually tab start hota hai jab stone kidney se nikal kar ureter mein aa jata hai.

Agar stone ureter mein stuck ho jaye:
🔹 Urine ka flow obstruct ho sakta hai
🔹 Kidney mein pressure build-up hota hai
🔹 Ureter stone ko aage push karne ke liye repeatedly contract karta hai
🔹 Is wajah se severe, wave-like pain ho sakta hai, jo back/side se lower abdomen ki taraf ja sakta hai

🚨 Important: Agar kidney stone pain ke saath fever ya chills bhi hain, to ise normal stone pain samajhkar ghar par wait na karein. Blockage ke saath infection urological emergency ho sakta hai aur urgent medical assessment ki zarurat hoti hai.

💙 Kidney stone symptoms ko ignore na karein. Timely diagnosis aur appropriate treatment complications ko prevent karne mein help kar sakta hai.

Early Prostate Cancer: Surgery Ke Bina Treatment Possible? | HIFU

Prostate Cancer agar early stage mein detect ho, to har patient ko immediately major surgery ki zarurat nahi hoti.

Selected patients mein cancer ki stage, Gleason Score, PSA level, MRI findings, age aur overall health ko evaluate karne ke baad different treatment approaches consider kiye ja sakte hain.

🔹 Active Surveillance – Selected low-risk prostate cancer patients ko regular PSA, MRI aur clinical follow-up ke through closely monitor kiya ja sakta hai.

🔹 HIFU (High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound) – Selected localized prostate cancer cases mein focused ultrasound energy ka use karke targeted cancerous prostate tissue ko treat kiya jata hai, without a surgical incision.

Is reel mein samajhiye Active Surveillance aur HIFU kya hain, kin patients mein consider kiye ja sakte hain, aur early detection kyun important hai.
