Shankar Prasad Foundation

Shankar Prasad Foundation Hari Om ✨🙏Welcome to SHANKAR PRASAD FOUNDATION near Gokarna, to experience & learn yoga nidra or meditation. Volunteers and donations are welcome ❤️

Shankar Prasad Foundation was set up to create a Yogic Culture with Ashram Lifestyle & Spiritual Community from this beautiful heritage house on 2 ½ acres of coconut grove and rice paddy field and to preserve the heritage of the local area as well as to ‘give back’ to the local people, for our own spiritual growth, thru seva (voluntary work to help others). You can come for weekend retreats to lea

rn Yoga Meditation and bring your family so that they can enjoy being close to nature (organic farming/gardening) and to the elements of nature: sun, sea, sky, earth and space (your own and quiet). While you attend, say a Yoga Meditation Course, your kids can play and your partner can read and relax and they can visit the local temple town, an ancient Shiva Pilgrimage heritage town, join in the festivities. Enjoy swimming in the ocean, surfing, explore the natural unspoilt beaches at and near Om Beach and nearby trekking, cycling, boating and exploring the local environment and culture, do or learn pottery and/or painting with local artisans, so many interesting things to do here. We practice sustainable living (learn how to live simply), agriculture (organic and eco friendly) and housing. No poisons or artificial fertilizers. We aim for 100% self generated power. eg, solar, wind, cow dung(gobur), Bengal boiler water heating, solar lights and chargers. You can come and stay at Shankar Prasad for your own Sadhana or you can come to learn Yoga & Meditation from the tradition of Satyananda Bihar Yoga from Swami Yogaratna Saraswati
Dashnami Sanyasi - 37 years of teaching experience &
Lineage: www.biharyoga.net/www.yogavision.net/www.rikhiapeeth.net

You can come and stay for short or long term retreats, simply as a stay, a student or a volunteer, or a guest or even to take a break from city life to reconnect with nature and your self. We have Hi-Speed internet to work from Ashram. While attending Retreats on Yoga Meditation or your own Sadhana retreat, you may like to consult with Ayurveda experts regarding your Prakruti (Ayurveda constitution), Dinacharya (daily routine suitable for your constitution), diet and yoga meditation Sadhana (yoga meditation and spiritual practices) for your doshas (characteristics). See calendar for Special Ayurveda Programs. Ayurvedic massages, treatments and medication can be arranged. You may also like to consult with expert astrologists from the Western tradition or the Indian tradition (jyotish) for basic charts and questions. You can enjoy seva/karma yoga, by working to help develop and run Shankar Prasad, as we do almost everything ourselves from gardening/agriculture to cooking, cleaning, administration and teaching and/or by serving in our various compassionate projects

Reconnect with yourself through authentic yogic living in a serene natural setting.

Guru Paduka Puja is a sacred practice of thanking the Guru for showing us the path to inner peace, wisdom, and self-discovery. The padukas represent the Guru's guidance and blessings in our lives

Mahamrityunjaya Havan is a prayer for healing, strength, protection, and inner peace. It helps us let go of fear, build resilience, and invite positive energy into our lives

Yoga Nidra is a practice of conscious relaxation that helps release physical, mental, and emotional tension, leaving you feeling calm, refreshed, and balanced

We begin by caring for the beach through a simple cleanup, then sit together in meditation by the sea. This practice nurtures gratitude, environmental awareness, inner calm, and a deeper connection with nature.

A gentle Hatha Yoga practice inspired by the teachings of the Bihar School of Yoga, combining simple postures, breath awareness, relaxation, and mindfulness to improve flexibility, balance, vitality, and inner harmony.
