🍞 Is bread bad for your kidneys?
Not necessarily.
Carbohydrates do not directly damage the kidneys. However, regularly consuming large amounts of refined carbohydrates can contribute to blood sugar problems and increase the risk of type 2 diabetes—one of the main causes of chronic kidney disease.
The good news is that bread does not need to disappear from the table. What matters most is making informed choices:
🌾 Prefer whole-grain or wholemeal options
🔎 Check fiber, sodium and added sugar on the label
🍽️ Pay attention to portion size
🥗 Combine carbohydrates with vegetables, healthy fats or protein
🏃 Support healthy blood sugar through an active lifestyle
