The Honest Thermometer
A thermometer does not create the fever.
It reveals it.
That distinction matters.
Many people fear emotional honesty because they confuse naming pain with becoming dramatic. They believe if they admit exhaustion, resentment, loneliness, or fear, they are somehow making the problem worse.
So they hide the reading.
They continue functioning.
They keep smiling.
They answer lightly.
They tell themselves it is probably nothing.
Meanwhile, the inner temperature keeps rising.
What is actually happening inside?
Where has stress become too high?
Where has silence turned into pressure?
Where has “I’m fine” stopped being honest?
God does not fear truthful readings.
He is not offended by the real condition of the heart. Healing cannot begin from a false chart. Wisdom cannot respond to numbers nobody is willing to read.
A fever named early can be treated before it becomes dangerous.
A feeling named honestly can be guided before it becomes destructive.
The thermometer is not the enemy.
Denial is.
