to a defining moment in our journey towards specialised healthcare, when Outspan Teaching & Referral Hospital successfully performed the first dual chamber pacemaker implantation in both the hospital's history and Nyeri County.

This wasn't just a medical first. It was the closing of a critical gap in cardiac care.
For years, patients requiring this life-changing procedure often had to travel long distances in search of specialised treatment. Today, that care is available closer to home, giving patients and their families renewed hope, quicker access to treatment, and better health outcomes.

Led by Dr. L. Wagana, Consultant Cardiologist, alongside Dr. Karoki, a dedicated theatre team, and technical support from Medtronic, this achievement reflected what is possible when expertise, innovation and purpose come together.

Over the weekend, our Lamaze Class brought together expectant parents for a hands-on learning experience focused on preparing for childbirth, breastfeeding, newborn care, and the journey into parenthood.

Through expert guidance, practical demonstrations, and open conversations, families gained valuable knowledge and confidence to welcome their little ones with greater peace of mind.
