When it comes to forensic science, how evidence is sealed matters just as much as how it is collected. Staples or tape might hold a package closed, but they do not protect against tampering.

That is why tamper‑evident tape is the gold standard. It ensures that once evidence is sealed, any attempt to interfere is immediately visible; safeguarding the chain of custody and protecting the integrity of the case.

Last Friday, the Department of Justice hosted their annual Fun Sports activities, and Team SLFSL proudly joined in! Our staff took part in 12 events and brought home an incredible 23 medals 🏅🎉. Beyond the competition, it was a day of camaraderie, wellness, and team spirit across the Ministry.

We extend warm congratulations to the winning sports house, Byron House, for their outstanding performance. 👏

Last week, the Saint Lucia Forensic Science Laboratory proudly welcomed two university students as interns in our Forensic Biology and Drug Chemistry departments. Internships like these are more than hands‑on training; they are pathways into the diverse world of forensic science and into the greater spheres of science and technology. They provide students with mentorship and exposure to careers that bridge scientific discovery with justice and innovation.

We are especially proud that both interns were women in STEM, representing the next generation of scientists who will strengthen justice through science in the Caribbean. Their curiosity, dedication, and fresh perspectives remind us that forensic science is not only about solving cases, but also about building inclusive futures.
