I learnt this the hard way.

When borrowing becomes a pattern, it’s no longer a request, it’s disrespect.

Hi Star, I’ve been there. And truthfully, it’s painful when a friend uses the term borrow but never returns what they promised. That’s not care...It’s manipulation masked as need.

Here are two things you can do:

1. Only give what you can let go.
If she asks for 20k but you know dashing out 5k or 10k won’t affect you, give only that. It frees your heart from expectations and saves you the emotional stress.

2. Teach her how to feed.
Help her find a job or connect her to something legal and meaningful that earns money. If she ignores it or gets lazy, then it’s clear—she’s not in need, she’s just leeching.

Set boundaries with love but be firm with wisdom.
