العلاج التكميلي والعلاج البديل. ما الفرق بينهما؟

غالباً ما يتم استخدام المصطلحين (بالخطأ) على أنهما قابلان للتبادل ولكن هناك فرق محدد ومهم للغاية!

العلاجات التكميلية هي تلك المستخدمة جنباً إلى جنب مع العلاجات والطب التقليدي.
العلاجات البديلة هي تلك المستخدمة بدلاً من العلاج والطب التقليدي.

يعتبر العلاج العطري علاج تكميلي وينصح المعالجون زبائنهم للتأكد وطلب المشورة الطبية إذا كان لديهم قلق حيال حالتهم المرضية.

شخصياً, أرى أنه لابأس للحالات البسيطة والمتوسطة اللجوء للعلاجات الغير طبية أولاً وهنا أصف العلاج بالعطور والزيوت العطرية بأنه علاج بديل وليس تكميلي لأنه كافٍ بالنسبة للكثير من الحالات.

في حال استمرت العوارض بالظهور أو لم تتم الإستفادة الكاملة يتم الرجوع للنصيحة الطبية.
من الممكن أيضاً للبعض الاستفادة من العلاج العطري بالتوازي مع العلاج الطبي التقليدي وذلك بسؤال طبيبك المعالج قبل ذلك.

Complementary vs Alternative therapy... what's the difference?

the tow terms are often used as (incorrectly) interchangeable but there is a very specific and important difference!

Complementary therapies are those used alongside conventional treatments and medicine.
Alternative therapies are those used instead of conventional treatment and medicine.

Aromatherapy is considered a complementary therapy and therapists advise their clients to check and seek medical advice if they are concerned about their condition.

Personally, I think that it is okay for simple and medium cases to go to non-medical treatments first, and here I describe aromatherapy and essential oils as an alternative and not a complementary treatment because it is sufficient for many cases.

In case that symptoms persist or the full benefit is not achieved, medical advice should be consulted.
It is also possible for some people to benefit from aromatherapy alongside traditional medical treatment by asking your physician beforehand.
