Some people like to read first. Some like a daily companion. Many like both.

The Vaginismus Book explains what's happening in your body and mind, why it isn't your fault, and how recovery works – step by step. The TVZ app then walks alongside you as you put it into practice.

Wherever you are on your journey, you're not alone in it.

Taking levodopa? Let's talk about protein.

Levodopa and the building blocks of protein use the same routes to get from your gut into your blood and brain. A large protein meal can compete with your dose.

But here's what often gets lost online:

Not everyone notices it. It's more likely after several years on levodopa, once doses start wearing off.

And cutting protein is not the answer. Your muscles need it, and with Parkinson's, strength matters even more.

What helps is noticing a pattern: what you ate, when you took your dose, how you felt. Then bring those notes to your neurologist, Parkinson's nurse or dietitian. Don't change your medication timing on your own.

Save this for your next appointment.

Feelings are part of the process, not something to push aside.

Frustration, sadness, hope, relief – they all belong. Writing them down can help you notice what's really going on, and what's slowly changing.

TVZ has a private journal for exactly that. Just for you, on your own phone.

What's one small thing you're proud of this week?

Falls are one of the biggest worries for people with Parkinson's and the people who care for them.

When a fall – or a near-fall – happens, the details matter: when it was, what you were doing, how long after your medication. Those details help your care team spot patterns.

The Parkinson's Zone has a simple fall log so nothing gets forgotten. And of course: after any fall, talk to your doctor.

"Just relax."

If you have vaginismus, you've probably heard it. From a doctor, a partner, a friend, the internet. Perhaps from yourself.

Here's why it doesn't work.

Your amygdala, the brain's alarm system, reacts faster than conscious thought. When it has learned that pe*******on means danger, it tells your pelvic floor to protect you. The muscles tighten on their own. Not because you chose it, and not because you aren't trying hard enough.

Then pe*******on hurts or doesn't work, and your brain files it away: "I was right." Next time, the alarm goes off sooner.

That cycle is the real problem. And cycles can be changed. Not by willpower, but by understanding what's happening, taking small steps at your own pace, and giving your brain new experiences that teach it: this is safe.

I've seen it change for many women over 25 years.

Does this sound familiar?

"How have you been since last time?"

It's the hardest question in a neurology appointment, because three months is a long time to remember.

Score Cards in The Parkinson's Zone let you rate how you feel – before and after your medication – and the Trends screen turns that into a simple chart over weeks or months. Take your phone into the appointment and show, rather than guess.

Tremor worse this afternoon? Freezing in the doorway again? A good hour after your morning dose?

These moments are exactly what your neurologist wants to know about – and exactly what's forgotten by the next appointment.

With Quick Log in The Parkinson's Zone you can note it in seconds, or simply record a voice note when typing is difficult.

Progress with vaginismus rarely feels like a straight line. Some days are easier, some days are not – and that is completely normal.

What helps is seeing how far you've actually come. In TVZ you can log each session in a few taps and look back over the weeks. Small steps add up, even when it doesn't feel like it.

Be kind to yourself on the harder days. 💛

Mealtimes and Parkinson's medication don't always get along.

Many people are advised by their neurologist to keep some distance between protein-rich meals and their levodopa. Remembering that, every day, is hard.

The Meal Window in The Parkinson's Zone shows a simple red/green indicator – even on your lock screen – so you can see at a glance whether it's a good moment to eat.

Always follow the timing your own doctor recommends.
