Did you know that we have a both nurse prescriber and pharmacist as part of our clinical team? Nurse Prescriber Wenjing (left) and Pharmacist Alanis (right) work alongside our GPs to provide extra care for our patients.

Wenjing can prescribe medications for a range of infections and other acute conditions where GP assessment isn't required. She can also provide repeat prescriptions for patients whose conditions have been assessed as stable by their GP.

Alanis provides medication reviews and personalised medicine advice. She helps patients and their whānau understand how best to use their medications, manage potential side effects, and ensure they are using inhalers and other health devices correctly. Her expertise is particularly valuable for people taking multiple medications or living with long-term conditions such as diabetes or asthma.

Little London Medical is now using a patient portal called Well, which you can access any time to book appointments, check lab results and request and pay for repeat prescriptions.

Well provides a much higher level of security than our previous patient portal, Manage My Health, which we are no longer using.

It’s easy to register and start using Well. Use the invite code LONDON and make sure you enter the same details that we have for you in our clinic. To register for Well on a mobile phone, download the Well NZ app on the App Store or Google Play. If you want to use Well on your computer, you can register for Well online here: littlelondonmedical.centrik.co.nz/portal

On Tuesday 23 June Little London Medical will be switching to a new patient portal called Well. Well will replace our current patient portal, Manage My Health, and will provide a much higher level of security while still making it easy to book appointments, request prescriptions, and view your test results using a mobile phone or computer.

You will still be able to use Manage My Health up to and including Monday 22 June, but you will need to use the Well patient portal from Tuesday 23 June onwards.

We will send you an email on Tuesday 23 June with all the information you need to register and start using Well, and we’ll also put that information on our website.

We’re excited to welcome Dr Steven Lillis to the Little London Medical whaanau. Steven brings over 30 years of clinical experience and is seeing patients on Friday afternoons😊

Originally from Ireland, Steven most recently worked as a GP at the University of Waikato Student Health Service and is currently the Clinical Lead for Assessment for the new University of Waikato Medical School development project. He has also held senior national roles in medical education with the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners and Medical Council of New Zealand.

Steven has a Diploma in Sports Medicine, a PhD, and has published approximately 60 research papers in his special interest areas of medical education, neurodiversity, ADHD and mental health. Outside of work, he loves cooking.

We’re delighted to welcome Dr Ju Shim to Little London Medical 😊 Ju joined our team earlier this month and is seeing patients Monday to Wednesday.

Originally from Korea, Ju spent his early years in the United States before moving to Aotearoa, where he completed his medical training at the University of Auckland. He began his career at Waikato Hospital as a registrar, then moved into general practice, most recently working at a GP clinic in Morrinsville.

Ju enjoys keeping fit and is passionate about supporting patients to build and maintain active, healthy lifestyles.

We’ll soon be switching to a new patient portal called Well NZ. The Well NZ app will replace our current patient portal, Manage My Health, and will provide a much higher level of security while still making it easy to book appointments, request prescriptions, and view your health records.

We expect the new app to be ready to launch within the next two months. Please keep an eye out for more information about when the change will happen, how to download the Well NZ app, and how to start using it.

Flu season is on its way, and now’s the perfect time to get protected. And yes - it really can be as easy as it looks 😄 Free flu vaccines are now available for people aged 65 and over, expectant mums, children aged 4 and under with respiratory conditions, and adults with long-term health conditions, reduced immunity, or specific mental health or addiction issues. If you don’t qualify for a free vaccine, the cost is $35.

Our nurses are very experienced at giving flu vaccinations and making the process as easy and comfortable as possible. A simple flu jab can help reduce your risk of getting seriously unwell or needing hospital care.
