Hello, beautiful souls! Today, we have a dreadful blustery day out. No umbrellas today! This weekend is Father’s Day, and we have some beautiful crystals in store or online for you. Hearts aren’t just for ladies, you know; we all have one!

In the metaphysical world, heart crystals—gemstones carved into the universal shape of a heart—primarily symbolize unconditional love, emotional healing, compassion, and connection to the Heart Chakra. While raw crystal points direct intense, focused energy, a heart carving features soft curves and a central base that acts as an “energy softener,” making a stone’s natural vibrations feel more accessible, nurturing, and soothing. The heart shape resonates directly with the Heart Chakra (Anahata). They are often used to dissolve emotional blockages, soothe grief, and open pathways for forgiveness. They are most famous for drawing in romance, strengthening intimacy, and fostering deep bonds with family and friends. Beyond romantic love, they serve as a physical reminder to treat yourself with kindness, silence negative self-talk, and embrace personal growth.

We have many beautiful heart-shaped crystals online at https://www.capricornspirit.com or in our Wellington and Levin stores for you to choose from.

Susan

Hello Beautiful Souls welcome to Tuesday! It’s a gorgeous day out there today, so time to look at one of our all-time favourites – Amethyst!

The history of Amethyst is a fascinating one. Greek myths tell of the maiden Amethystos, turned into quartz by Artemis to protect her from a drunken Dionysus, who stained the stone purple with w**e. Derived from the Greek word amethystos ("not intoxicated"), it was worn as an amulet in ancient Greece and Rome to prevent drunkenness, but beyond preventing intoxication, ancient Egyptians used it for jewelry. It was historically linked to the tribe of Gad, the Apostle Matthew, and used in Christian bishops' rings to symbolize purity and sobriety. Throughout the Middle Ages, it was used to adorn English regalia and was a favorite of Catherine the Great.

Originally extremely rare, the discovery of large deposits in Brazil and Uruguay in the 19th century made amethyst more accessible, reducing its price but maintaining its popularity. So how do we use it today?

Amethyst: Spiritual Connection – Wisdom - Peace – Balance

Amethyst is associated with the crown chakra and is helpful in purifying the mind and clearing it of negative thoughts. Amethyst is a soothing crystal that promotes peace, calmness and balance. It helps to awaken the soul and realise one’s purpose. Amethyst relieves stress and strain, soothes irritability, balances mood swings, and dispels anxiety. Amethyst’s ability to expand the higher mind also enhances one’s creativity and passion. It strengthens the imagination and helps the assimilation of new ideas, putting thoughts into action, and bringing creative projects to fruition.

We have many beautiful pieces of Amethyst either in beautiful shapes, geodes, or polished pieces for you to hold. Come in and find yours today! You never know you just might find the piece you have been looking for.

Hello Beautiful Souls! We caught up with Susan and Elza in Arita town, the ceramic and porcelain area....after the war and the horrific atomic bombing of Nagasaki, the people offered the Korean people a place to live and so they brought with them a lot of there traditions in ceramic painting and the influence is seen in the porcelain ceramics.

They also went to the peace park in Nagasaki, to pay respects to the people killed by the dropping of the atomic bomb, and the many generations after that have been terribly affected.

Elza tells us, there was a small girl that had been walking in the streets that day, and had decided to go into these caves for what ever reason, she had survived the bomb blast because of it, with only bruising as she was thrown against the wall of the cave.....they are pictured below.

We are so blessed to live here in New Zealand, and sometimes it is easy to get caught up in the 'day-to-day' stuff and forget to take a breath, stop and look around. Thank you both for sharing this with us.

Lorena

Hello Beautiful Souls, we caught up with the girls who are now in Korea.

They traveled by bus to Haedong Yonggungsa temple high in the hills overlooking the ocean. Haedong Yonggungsa Temple is a 14th-century Buddhist temple famed for its rare and dramatic cliffside location overlooking the East Sea in Gijang-gun, Busan. Unlike the vast majority of Korean temples which are nestled deep within mountainous regions, this site is uniquely positioned directly on the rocky coastline.

Then it was on to one of Busan's beaches for lunch on the Haeundae train.
A quick visit to a market to see the sights, while surviving a very humid 35 degrees!!

Brrrr they will feel the cold in another week!!! But for now, doesn’t their sunshine look fabulous , but my favourite picture is that beautiful moon!

Hello Beautiful Souls, well Monday has turned on the sunshine - how stunning!! I hope you are all enjoying this beautiful day. Susan and Elza have been busy they caught the ferry from Hiroshima to the island of Miyajima, where they visited Itsukushima Shrine, rebuilt in 1168, originally built in 593...also the 0-Torii gate, in low tide. Miyajima, officially known as Itsukushima, is a sacred island located in the Seto Inland Sea within Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan. Celebrated as one of the country's "Three Views of Japan", it is world-renowned for its iconic "floating" vermilion torii gate and the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Itsukushima Shrine.

Wow, it looks so beautiful there!

We have lovely Roha in the Wellington store, and Julie is in the Levin store today to help with all your crystals needs, because let's face it, Monday is always brighter with a crystal in your pocket!

Hello Beautiful Souls, well it’s a tad blustery out there so hang on to your hats!!

We caught up with the girls on their travels in Kochi. Kōchi is the capital city of Kōchi Prefecture, located on the scenic southern coast of Shikoku Island, Japan. Known for its warm, laid-back atmosphere, rich samurai history, and pristine natural environment, it is bordered by rugged mountains and the Pacific Ocean.

In their photos you will see a scenic, gravelly beach south of the city center featuring a giant bronze statue of Sakamoto Ryōma, who was a legendary local samurai who shaped modern Japan. It looks absolutely beautiful!

There are also some photos of Osaka were they did a bit of shopping the day before! Yup you guessed it, they found the Pokémon Centre and had a robot waiter!!

Can’t wait to see what their next leg of the journey looks like as they head to Miyajima!

Crystal Blessings,
Lorena
