When your hormones are screaming at you life feels hectic. I have had my share of hormonal challenges over the years. Hormones are an area of my work that I am very passionate about because naturopathy has so many wonderful ways to support the different hormones.
A huge part of hormone support is learn your cycle, work with it not against it. The kitchen and learning to rest and retreat are excellent places to begin.

Who wants my beef cheek ragu recipe for the weekend? Slow cooked in beef bone broth this is heaven on a plate, the perfect, nourishing comfort food.
Top tip lamb shanks done this way are sensational too.

Last night's routine with Prepy by
This 5 step system is such a beautiful ritual, we know I love rituals. I literally feel fresh and prepy πŸ’–
That cleansing balm is absolutely luscious, the glow swipes are such excellent addition 1 - 2 times a week to help remove impurities and support the glow we all chase.
The face milk is light and hydrating full of fabulous skin support goodies, then you have the essence serum which is like silk, so beautiful, finish with Ayem Peyem barrier repair cream to lock everything in.
These products are packed full of goodies without the nasties that I try to avoid in skincare.
Thanks to my Holly Dolly for suggesting we make this video. Supporting NZ women in business is one of my passions. Nat creates amazing make-up too, her foundation is the only one I will use when I wear make-up πŸ’–

Yesterday's epic hormone harmony lunch, best thing is there is plenty left for today.
Cauliflower is a cruciferous vegetable which means that is fantastic for aiding oestrogen metabolism.

When I talk about oestrogen metabolism I am largely talking about xeno oestrogens, the ones we get from our environment, the ones we do not want to go unopposed and get recirculated, not the beautiful oestrogen our bodies make. It is super important to be mindful of xeno oestrogens and aid your body in removing them, hence my lemon shot, green drink, raw carrot and rocket salad daily as these support the liver which is absolutely crucial for hormone harmony.

Broccoli, Cabbage, radishes, Brussels sprouts and rocket are other excellent cruciferous vegetables, kale is one too but as I have said before kale has a negative impact on my thyroid function and it tastes like garbage so I avoid it.

To make this super delicious and filling I added
Prawns
Some left over beef sausage
Spinach
Sun dried tomatoes
Basil pesto
Halloumi
I usually add some grated parmesan but the Halloumi needed using.
Leftover chicken is really good too.
You can basically add anything that's in the fridge as the Cauliflower rice doesn't really have much flavour.
Simple, quick, delicious πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–

These seed crackers are one of my favourite additions to my hormone supportive protocol.
I love crackers but I dislike eating too much wheat and gluten as it makes me inflamed and gives me acne.
So these seed crackers are fabulous no wheat or gluten in sight just beautiful fat and fibre rich hormone supportive seeds and gut loving psyllium.
On the days I am too busy to fit in a proper midday meal these are my saviours.
I eat them with butter, cheese or almond butter. They are sensational with avocado too when I have any on hand.
I love to have a big batch ready and waiting in my pantry.

We constantly hear negative things about aging.
Some people will hate this post (scroll on) but most of you who are here will love it and the message it brings)
Getting older doesn't have to be a negative experience. Things will change that is inevitable however the rituals and routines you implement in your daily life will determine your aging experience.
On the left I am 23 on the right that's me a couple of days ago age 47.
What I have done consistently over the 24 years in-between are;
Exercised 3 - 5 times a week every single week including pregnancy and birth week.
Eaten plenty of protein, fat, fibre and brightly coloured produce.
Taken a lemon shot and green tea each morning.
Hydrated throughout the day.
Taken milk thistle and magnesium daily ( except no milk thistle whilst pregnant and breastfeeding).
Prioritised sleep, even in the times of extreme stress of which I have had more than my fair share over those years, but that is another post.
Enjoyed plenty of 🍾πŸ₯‚
Always moved functionally in my day to day life.
In the recent photo I have barely done any running, had lots of treats and was on day 2 of my cycle but still feeling good.
Don't let numbers dictate your destiny, to age is a privilege, to age in a way that allows you to live your best life is a few simple routine changes away. These are the things I encourage my clients to embrace to help them live their best lives πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–
