One of the beautiful women who recently completed our Radical Remission workshop reached out to me this week with some pretty incredible news.
Just nine months ago, she was diagnosed with Stage 4 HER2-positive breast cancer, and her latest results now show that all visible cancer has gone, apart from one tiny remaining spot.
What really struck me when she shared more of her story was just how much she has done to become an active participant in her own healing. She embraced her medical treatment with a positive mindset, took the time to understand how it worked and made a conscious decision early on that she was going to believe in the possibility of an exceptional response.
Alongside her oncology treatment, she sought the support of an integrative GP, had comprehensive blood testing to better understand what was happening within her body, used targeted supplements and made changes to her nutrition, incorporating many of the foods recommended by Dr William Li in Eat to Beat Disease.
But her approach went well beyond the physical. She became much more aware of stress and the things in her life that created a physical stress response, and began consciously working on what she could change or let go of. She also incorporated daily hypnotherapy, visualisation, affirmations, prayer and emotional healing work to support her mindset and wellbeing.
Importantly, she also made a conscious decision to bring more FUN and LIFE back into her world — getting outside, moving her body, enjoying music and creativity, connecting with others and reminding herself that cancer was only one part of her life, not all of it.
She has created strong reasons for living and a very clear intention for her future. In fact, she challenged her oncologist to help her achieve another 20 birthdays!
What I love about her story is that she hasn't looked for one magic answer. She has brought together medicine, nutrition, integrative support, mindset, emotional healing, movement, joy, purpose and belief.
Every person's cancer journey is different, and we can never attribute an outcome to any one approach. But this is such a beautiful example of what it can look like to participate wholeheartedly in your own healing.
Her words to me after sharing her latest results said it all:
“I am determined to keep it that way now!”
FEAR → HOPE → BELIEF
Hearing what is possible for someone else is all we need to open the door to hope, belief, and possibility for ourselves.
