45kg LPG for Home and Business

We know some of our locals will have received a letter from their power supplier telling them that their LPG 45kg rate is going up, a lot, and to expect more increases.

Yes, cost of delivery and wholesales prices are moving up, but as Bobs Gas customers will know ... the best service can be cost effective.

And, the future, the Power Company letter implies LPG will be hard to get in the future. That is not likely at all.
Yes there is a Natural Gas issue, the supply in NZ is running out faster than anticipated, but LPG has been imported for years to help over the peak of winter demand. The world has plenty of LPG, enough that our children will never be short, and it is easy to move around.

🔍 Have you ever wondered if there's more to a gas cylinder than simply filling it up?

Last night, some of our Tauranga based crew, appeared on 7 Sharp to help shine a light on what goes on behind the scenes to keep cylinders safe, compliant, and fit for service. 📺

While most people only see the filling process, many cylinders—including LPG, CO₂, breathing apparatus, fire extinguishers, and other compressed gas cylinders—must undergo regular inspection and testing throughout their working life. 🧯⚙️

These checks help ensure cylinders remain safe to use and meet the strict standards required for storing and transporting pressurised gases. ✅

A big shout-out our Tauranga team who helped demonstrate the testing process and shared a few laughs along the way! 👏

It's a skilled and often challenging job, requiring attention to detail, specialist knowledge, and a commitment to safety—and it's one we're proud to be part of. 💙

🌿 Meet the Bosses! 🌿

We've gained quite a few new members to our Bobs Gas Facebook whānau over the last few weeks, so we reckon it's about time we introduced you to our super cool directors!

Most of you will already know them, and you've probably seen them around town. But if not, say kia ora to Ron and Louise 👋

When they're not helping keep the wheels turning at Bobs Gas, you'll often find them giving back to our local community in all sorts of ways. Their latest adventure? Taking part in the Ōtanewainuku Kiwi Listening Survey 🍃

This wasn't exactly a stroll in the park either...

🌲 1 hour walking into the ngahere
🌙 2 hours sitting quietly in the dark
👂 Listening for kiwi calls
🥶 Providing valuable scientific data while slowly turning into human popsicles

The survey is helping gather valuable information about our local kiwi population, and this was the first survey of its kind in around 25 years!

We're pretty lucky to have directors who are passionate about supporting the communities and environments we call home.

So next time you see Ron and Louise out and about, be sure to give them a wave... although if they're sitting quietly in the bush at midnight, maybe don't. The kiwi might not appreciate it! 😆

🚛 Just a casual Tauranga to Christchurch road trip… because when you’re carting multiple loads of cylinders, flying home isn’t really an option. 😂

Our Director Ron and his dad Keith took the scenic route home via Picton and the Interislander, while senior driver Miles kept things rolling behind the scenes. Along the way they managed to snap some pretty epic photos too 📸🌄

Safe to say the South Island roads, tunnels and ferry lights made the new setup look right at home ✨🚛

A lot of kilometres, a lot of coffee ☕, probably a few questionable pies 🥧… almost another mission completed safely 😅

The boys are still making their way home, so if you see them out on the roads, don’t forget to give them a toot and a wave 👋🚛
