Come and see us today and we will not only help you get back in action as quickly and efficiently as possible but also work with you to figure out what caused your injury and thus how to stop it returning and preventing further injuries.

A day catching up with the Auckland based White Ferns at their Eden Park training facilities.

Today plan
- baseline testing with timing gates for acceleration and speed assessments
- countermovement jumps (CMJ) for assessing explosive lower limb power
- 10/5 a measure of reactive strength
- 1 RM bench press
- 1 RM bench pull

We use this data to help create specific rehabilitation and gym training plans based around each individual athletes goals.

We have some baseline targets categorised into red/orange/ green standards to give them some targets to aim for. It helps us track improvements as we repeat these same tests in planned times over a year

Am looking forward to moving down the country for more testing and catch ups this week.

Physios treat more than sore backs and sports injuries. 👀

Vertigo. Dizziness. Balance problems. Inner ear dysfunction.
All of it falls within our scope, and this week our team got upskilled by one of the best in the field.

We had the privilege of learning from Justine Drummond - Senior Physiotherapist, Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapist, and owner of the Vertigo Clinic in Tauranga - who has over 13 years of specialist vestibular experience.

Here’s what we treat at Back in Action:

→ BPPV (Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo): that spinning sensation when you roll over in bed or look up
→ Cervicogenic dizziness: dizziness coming from the neck
→ Balance and coordination issues
→ Post-concussion dizziness

If you or someone you know has been dealing with dizziness or vertigo, don’t just live with it. It’s very treatable.

From the Greerton senior team winning the Bay of Plenty rugby championship to the next generation on the field today.

We love being part of this community 🏉 We were out supporting the schools rugby day, keeping the young ones moving and tending to any bumps and bruises along the way. This is what it’s all about. Keeping people of all ages active, safe, and in the game 🙌🏽

It was a pleasure to work alongside the amazing players, coaches and managers of Greerton Marist for another year, and what a season!!

You see their performance for 80 mins on a Saturday, but that’s the surface of the hard work, time, dedication and determination they put in.

Working to manage their injuries through the season has been a great experience and I hope that we made getting back on the field each week a little bit easier.

Can’t wait for next season. Now, let’s bring on rehab.. 💪🏽

Same exercise. Same person. Completely different movement quality. 🔍

Swipe through and see if you can spot what’s going wrong and why it matters ➡️

Poor scapular control is one of the most common things we see in the clinic. It doesn’t always hurt straight away, but left unaddressed it creates an unstable foundation for every movement your shoulder makes.

The three muscles responsible for keeping the shoulder blade stable and moving well
- rotator cuff
- serratus anterior
- lower trapezius
all need to be strong, coordinated, and firing together.

When they’re not, the whole shoulder system is compromised.

Save this post 🔖 and if your shoulder has been feeling
off, unstable, or weak, come in and let us take a look.
