There's something satisfying about practical work.

Roofing combines technical skill, attention to detail, and work that delivers a visible result at the end of the day.

A solid career path for people who enjoy working with their hands and being part of a trade.

A huge achievement for everyone involved in the Mana to Mahi programme!

Over two intensive weeks, rangatahi completed training in Wheels, Tracks & Rollers, Forklift, MEWP, and Confined Space & Gas Testing, building valuable skills and confidence for careers in civil and construction. The feedback from whānau and learners highlighted the supportive learning environment and impact of the journey.

Special recognition to Maria Amoamo and Anthony Wilson for their dedication, leadership throughout and commitment to ensuring the success of the programme and its participants 👏

Congratulations to Rob Dickson on being named our Apprentice of the Month! 👏

Rob was nominated for his strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to get on with the job independently. His employer describes him as someone who consistently gets the job done and can always be relied upon to deliver.

A well-earned recognition for someone who's making a solid contribution on site every day.

Congratulations, Rob, and thank you to Barred Up Scaffolding for supporting apprentice development and training within your business.

Amazing work, Roofing Specialists Northland Limited 👏
Giving apprentices the chance to get stuck into a wide range of roofing work is how skills are built. Every job adds experience, confidence, and capability. Great to see the support being given throughout the journey.

Our Training Advisor, Adan Te Huia, shares with us his winter warm-up: "Cold mornings call for a beanie, a brew, and a catch‑up with the crew."

"We handed out the RANZ gift package to these amazing learners after their final Block course, with Liz Watson doing the honours. Good to spend some time with them and see them off after their three‑year run."

Last week at our Tauranga Centre, Matariki was marked with a shared hāngī prepared by Rozanna and her husband, bringing staff and learners together.

They spent time looking at the stars, focusing on one each year. This year it was Waipuna-ā-rangi, connected to rain and the role of water in sustaining life.

There was also a scratch art competition for staff and their tamariki. Plenty of detail, a bit of competition, and a good turnout ✨

It's been a week of reflection, looking back on the year that's been and remembering those who have passed, being present by being thankful for what we have, and looking ahead and planning for the future.

It's been great to have time to look back on what we've learned but also reflect on when it's time to let go of something, so we can focus on the future and the opportunities we have or are working towards.

Mānawatia a Matariki!
