We have been given a mixed collection of photographs and slides recently, from the family of Mr Len and Mrs Joan McGrath.

Attached are some images from one collection, taken at the Temuka MardiGras, to celebrate the opening of the new By-pass Road in February 1995.

Mrs Joan Phiskie cut the ribbon to open the road.

Does anyone recognise any of the people?
Take a look at the shops in the back ground, many businesses from our past.

Dont forget the Temuka Courthouse Museum is the place to donate or loan your images so they can be preserved for future generations.

We are so grateful that more and more of our local treasure is being donated to the museum for safe keeping.

A recent very fragile map dated 1892 of the Epworth area has been given to us.
Early settlers names on it are Fitzgerald, Davies, Breen, Ackroyd, McCallum.

The area showing McCallum was Hornbrooks Arowhenua Station, then sold to McCallum, Lyon now Bowman.
