Last year I lost a good friend to cancer only to be told again that another good friend is going through the same hell.

I have never given blood but have decided better late than never right?!!

I encourage you to do the same. You never know when you may need it for yourself, a friend for family member

Does your child have heel pain??

The growth plate at the back of the heel can become irritated during growth spurts and sports involving running and jumping.

The "protocol" most people recommend to reduce activities that aggravate the heel are:

1 Use ice after sport if sore.
2 Stretch the calf and Achilles tendon regularly.
3 Wear supportive footwear and/or heel support.

And in ‘time’ the growth plate will fuse and the pain will go away - this is true but if you do nothing in the meantime a lot of damage is caused to the heel area.

Orthotics can greatly reduce strain to the lower limb and reduce damage

This evening's drive from Timaru to Christchurch was tinged with a mix of emotions as I attended a CPR and anaphylactic course in Christchurch.

For numerous years, I had the pleasure of collecting my colleague Adele from Wi******er and sharing conversations about work, family, and life's experiences during the journey.

We would often dine together and continue our discussions on the way home. Tonight marked the first time I've had to undertake this trip solo since Adele's passing last July.

I deeply miss her vivacious presence, forthright opinions, and companionship.😢😢

I'm grateful to the team who made an effort to be present tonight, bringing laughter and shared experiences that helped fill the void.

Last day in Brisbane before we return (bucketing down with rain 🌧️ )

We have had an amazing family break with a little sunshine and the Warriors performance at Suncorp Stadium last night was outstanding, the atmosphere was incredible.
