Marriage is not always romantic.
Sometimes it’s choosing a conversation when you’d rather shut down.
Sometimes it’s sitting with disappointment without turning it into resentment.
Sometimes it’s realizing that the person you love can also be the person who triggers you the most.
Marriage will test your patience.
Your attachment style.
Your boundaries.
Your ability to communicate when you’re hurt.
And sometimes, your willingness to take a hard look at yourself.
There will be beautiful seasons.
And there will be difficult ones.
Some struggles will bring you closer.
Some will show you what needs to change.
And some, if ignored for long enough, can slowly break a relationship.
That’s why a strong marriage isn’t defined by how little you fight. It’s defined by what you do after the fight.
How you repair. How you listen. How you take responsibility. How you make room for each other’s needs without abandoning your own.
Love is the foundation.
But communication, respect, emotional safety, accountability and the willingness to grow together are what help build the house.
And NO, a good enough marriage is not one where everything feels easy. It’s one where both people are willing to keep showing up.
