World Mental Health Day makes me think about how often we wait until things feel really bad before we allow ourselves to get support.

For me, mental health is also in the everyday things: sleep, rest, saying when something feels too much, asking for help a little sooner, and looking after the body as much as the mind.

Remember, you don’t have to wait until you’re at breaking point to take yourself seriously. ❤️

I’m very organised by nature, so “just let it unfold” is not always my favourite sentence. ☺️

What I’ve learned, though, is that control can feel useful right up until it becomes exhausting. There’s a point where planning helps and a point where gripping tighter only creates more tension.

That’s part of why I value Sophrology. It gives me a way to notice when I’m holding too much, physically and mentally, and soften that before I carry it into everything else.

Comment LIGHTER and I’ll send you the guided practice.

People often think I’m okay because I usually carry things quite well.

I’m learning not to wait until I’m exhausted to say, “This is difficult for me” or “I need some support.”
Sophrology helps me notice what’s happening in my body and how I’m feeling before I keep pushing through.

Comment SUPPORT and I’ll send you a short practice to help you check in with yourself.

With children, I’ve found shorter is often better. ☺️

A few simple minutes, repeated often, can be much more useful than making it feel like another thing they have to do.

And yesterday we added Session 2: Let Go to the free Young Minds Sophrology Series. 🤍

This practice is for those moments after a hard day when anger, fear or worry is still hanging around. We use slow belly breathing, notice where the feeling is sitting in the body, then gently tense and release the body to help let some of that feeling move through.

If you’d like to try it with your child, comment YOUNG MIND and I’ll send you the link to join the free series.

It’s easy to confuse being easy to be around with actually being okay.

You say yes. You don’t ask for much. You keep things moving.

But there’s a difference between being considerate and constantly making yourself smaller.

Sophrology has helped me notice that sooner.
Comment SPACE and I’ll send you the practice.

👉 What stands out to me is how quickly pressure can make us move away from what we already know.

I’ve experienced that myself with public speaking and with building BeSophro. The body reacts, the mind gets louder, and suddenly you can start doubting decisions you were clear about five minutes earlier.

For me, the work is not to remove pressure. It is to notice what is happening early enough to come back to myself before I start abandoning my own judgement.

That is one of the things I value most about Sophrology. It gives me something practical to return to when my mind gets noisy and I need to reconnect with focus, confidence and my own decisions.

Comment STEADY and I’ll send you a guided Sophrology practice for those moments when pressure starts making you second-guess yourself.

One thing I’ve learned is that change doesn’t always mean something has gone wrong.

Sometimes the things that used to suit us simply don’t anymore. I think knowing yourself also means being willing to notice that, even when acting on it feels uncomfortable.
Sophrology has helped me listen to myself more closely through many of those changes.

Comment BALANCE and I’ll send you a free guided practice to try.
