World Humanitarian Day 2026

Humanitarian action begins with people and communities.When crises affect communities, local people are often the first to respond by caring for their families, supporting their neighbours, sharing knowledge, and finding ways to keep their communities safe and healthy.

Humanitarian support is not only about providing immediate assistance. It is also about sharing knowledge and skills that communities can continue to apply.
At Health for All Foundation-Burma Children Medical Fund (HFA-BCMF), we believe meaningful humanitarian action starts by listening to communities, working alongside them, and supporting their ability.

We work alongside local communities by providing a number of training including wheelchair fitting, rehabilitation, and reproductive health and rights. By sharing knowledge and building local capacity, we help communities become more confident and healthier.

This World Humanitarian Day, we celebrate the strength of local communities and the power of working together. We honour our staff, community volunteers, health workers, local responders, and everyone who helps those affected by crises.

On 24 July 2026, Health for All Foundation-Burma Children Medical Fund (HFA-BCMF), visited Mae La Refugee Camp in Tak Province, Thailand, to conduct a Reproductive Health and Rights (RHR) workshop, wheelchair fitting and distribution, and emergency support distribution.

The day began where our team fitted 2 recipients with wheelchairs, who were referred by Karen Women Organisation. We later donated 3 wheelchairs and 2 boxes of PPE to Thasongyang Hospital – Mae La Branch for hospital use.

As part of our emergency support, we also assisted 7 households with essential items, including mosquito nets, bags, flashlights, and other necessities.

In the afternoon, our team held an RHR workshop at Karen Baptist Bible School and College (KKBBSC), sharing essential knowledge about reproductive health and bodily autonomy with 32 female and 20 male student participants.

During the workshop, we provided
• 11 HFA-BCMF reusable menstrual hygiene kits
• 2 Days for Girls kits
• 19 disposable pad kits for girls
• Towels for each male participant

We also held a quiz session and gave out 5 bags, 6 belts, and 7 small toiletry bags as prizes to participants, generously donated by Daniel Waldvogel.

Sharing Knowledge, Creating Awareness🧩

Health for All Foundation-Burma Children Medical Fund was pleased to participate in the Sustrends 2027 event in Bangkok on August 4th.

During the event, we had the opportunity to present about our reusable sanitary pads and our programs and projects, also sharing practical information about the benefits of reusable sanitary pads, their proper care and cleaning, and menstrual health and cycles.

We acknowledged how reusable sanitary pads can be a practical option for many communities. By reducing single-use products, reusable pads help minimise waste and support sustainable menstrual health. They are also a cost-effective option, which is important for our beneficiaries who often face financial hardships as well as difficulties with accessing enough products for each month.

The event also allowed us to exchange knowledge, answer questions, and have meaningful conversations about menstrual health and sustainable menstrual hygiene practices.

We sincerely thank everyone who visited our booth, participated in the discussions, asked questions, shared their experiences, and supported our work through donations. Your interest and engagement made the event a meaningful experience for us.

We would also like to thank Wonder Life by "I" learning center for their collaboration and for donating reusable sanitary pads for our beneficiaries.

At Health for All Foundation-Burma Children Medical Fund (HFA-BCMF), young people from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and life experiences come together through volunteering and internships. They bring different skills, abilities, perspectives, and ideas while gaining valuable experience and learning along the way.

We value the diversity that each young person brings to our organization and recognize their contributions and help to build healthier communities.

On International Youth Day, we appreciate and celebrate all young people who contribute to their communities in different ways. We are grateful for their time, energy, skills, and commitment, and we remain committed to supporting and encouraging young people to learn, grow, and contribute to positive change.

Today, Health for All - Burma Children Medical Fund (HFA-BCMF) is reaching out to our partners and supporters to help 300 displaced children in southern Sagaing Division, Burma.

Ongoing armed clashes, military offensives, and airstrikes have forced families to flee their homes. They now seek safety in forests, monasteries, and temporary displacement camps with very limited access to basic necessities.

Your support can help restore a sense of stability and hope during this difficult time.Your donation will provide emergency food assistance and essential educational supplies.

On 24 July 2026, Health for All Foundation-Burma Children Medical Fund (HFA-BCMF) conducted a pediatric echocardiogram (ECHO) screening at the Blossom Future Foundation Safe House in Mae Sot, Tak Province, Thailand.

Children aged seven and under from the safe house and surrounding community were invited to the screening. In total, 27 children received comprehensive ECHO examinations. Following the screening, a child named Hein was identified with suspected Ventricular Septal Defect, a congenital heart disease, and will undergo further investigation at Mae Sot Hospital in September 2026 during a free ECHO screening held by pediatric cardiologists from the Save Blue Heart Foundation.

Early detection of congenital heart disease is crucial. Identifying congenital structural heart conditions at an early stage allows children to receive timely medical care and treatment, significantly improving survival rates for young children and long-term health outcomes.

We extend our sincere thanks to NGOメータオ・クリニック支援の会　Japan Association for Mae Tao Clinic (JAM) for donating a portable ultrasound probe, which we are donating again to a partner clinic for antenatal care, as well as DAK Foundation for providing Butterfly iQ Plus ultrasound and ECHO device, and mission donors, DIN/DAK and Luff Foundation for supporting our activity.

HFA-BCMF remains committed to reaching underserved communities and ensuring that vulnerable children have access to essential healthcare services.

Empowerment and Bodily Autonomy

On 2 July 2026, we hosted an interactive and educational Reproductive Health and Right (RHR) workshop for the students at The Heaven Gate Education Centre in Tak Province, Thailand. Emphasizing bodily autonomy and empowerment, our team equipped the students with vital information to make safe and informed choices about their bodies and futures.
- 22 female and 16 male student participants
- 15 HFA-BCMF reusable hygiene kits and and 1 Days for Girls menstrual hygiene kit given out to interested female participants
- 26 side bags, 4 belts, and 6 cosmetic bags from Daniel Waldvogel given out to male and female participants who did not receive reusable menstrual hygiene kits

Diana, a 16-year-old student, lived in Chedikho, Mae Sot District, Tak Province, Thailand, who attended the workshop, recommended that similar workshops should be conducted for youths in her village in Thailand, as she believes everyone should have access to this type of information. She said, “Before the workshop, I believed that if a boy held my hand or kissed me, I could become pregnant just from skin to skin contact. But now, I understand the process clearly with the help of the video demonstrations and explanations. Thank you for providing us with this helpful information.”

💙 Thank You to Our Earthquake Relief Donors 💙

Health for All Foundation-Burma Children Medical Fund (HFA-BCMF) extends our heartfelt gratitude to our generous donors, local partners, as well as Dr. Mon and Dr. Ultra for their support and dedication during the 2025 Earthquake Relief Response.

Because of this help, we were able to provide life-saving assistance to 25,152 individuals affected by the earthquake across Sagaing Division, Mandalay Division, and Shan State in Burma.

Every contribution represented more than emergency assistance. It restored hope, strengthened resilience, and reminded thousands of families that they were not alone during one of the most difficult moments of their lives.

From everyone at HFA-BCMF, and from every individual, family, and community whose lives were touched by your generosity and help, thank you for standing with us.

On 15 July, 2026, the Health for All Foundation - Burma Children Medical Fund (HFA-BCMF) provided nutrition and hygiene support to 159 children under the age of five from IDP families in Karen State, Burma.
Our team distributed a total of 1,045 essential items to help children five years old and under and their families. The supplies included baby formula or soy milk, baby wraps, baby powder, baby shower gel, baby bottles, mosquito nets, wet tissues, and detergent.These essential items help improve children's health, hygiene, and well-being.

“My family has a limited income, making it difficult to afford essential childcare and hygiene items. With the support from HFA-BCMF, my child is better protected from mosquito-borne diseases and has improved daily hygiene. We are living through very difficult times because of unstable incomes and the ongoing armed conflict in our area. This support means so much to our family and gives us hope. Thank you very much.” Hti’s mother.
