Before any laser treatment at Laser MD, we assess your Fitzpatrick Skin Type. The Fitzpatrick Scale is a medical classification that helps us predict how your skin responds to UV exposure and laser energy, and is one of the key tools we use to determine safe and effective settings.

The scale is a starting point, not the full picture. Here in Trinidad and Tobago, chronic sun exposure in a high UV tropical climate means that skin history, active concerns, and lifestyle all influence how we approach each individual treatment. Two patients with the same Fitzpatrick type can still present very differently in clinic.

That is why a thorough assessment always comes before any laser session at Laser MD.
