Baylor was born with Geleophysic dysplasia, a rare form of dwarfism that affects his bone development and cardiac and respiratory functions.
Although his condition is mild, his care journey has been anything but simple. Before he was even a year old, he had multiple procedures to place feeding tubes, repair a hernia, and release his tethered spinal cord. He's also had several bronchoscopies to monitor his lungs and breathing difficulties.
When Baylor began care with Aveanna nurse Ari, they were inseparable almost instantly. Both he and his family had a trusted partner to navigate every step of his health journey at home.
"Baylor was around a year and a half old when he began care with Nurse Ari, and we have never been so blessed," shared his family. "Aveanna came into our lives when we didn't really know up from down some days, but they've been constant through it all."
For the past 3 years, Ari and the rest of Baylor's care team at Aveanna have supported his development, walked with his family through every milestone and setback, and kept him safe and healthy at home. Now, Baylor is ready to step into his next chapter: graduation from Aveanna!
