Early on I realized something…

The cases that go wrong aren’t usually the hard ones.

They’re the “easy” ones where you stop thinking.

Sometimes it’s just grabbing what you think is right.

Same color. Same spot. Different drug.

That’s why I double check everything — even when I’m 99% sure.

Pain doesn’t travel… unless you let it.

Today’s blocks aren’t just about numbing — they’re about controlling the signal before it ever reaches the brain.

👉 Local anesthetics work by blocking sodium channels, stopping nerve depolarization
👉 No depolarization = no signal transmission
👉 No signal = no pain perception

Then comes decision-making:

✔️ Short case? → Lidocaine
✔️ Intermediate duration? → Mepivacaine, Bupivicaine or Ropivacaine
✔️ Long surgery or postop pain control? → Bupivacaine or Ropivacaine
