Repsher Physical Therapy

Repsher Physical Therapy Albany, NY’s Premier Physical Therapy Office🏆
‘Helping People Over Life's Hurdles' since 1980! Our patients learn they cannot fall while wearing the harness.

Our passion is to provide individualized hands on physical therapy in a calm relaxed atmosphere. Our staff have advanced training and attend continuing education courses on a regular basis. Our patients love the AlterG treadmill which allows them to be unweighted up to 80% of their body weight walking or running while protecting healing tissues. We also utilize a Guldmann safety harness which supp

orts patients while performing balance exercises. The skills learned allow them to progress to safe fall free walking at home. Our newest addition is Deep Tissue Laser Therapy which utilizes therapeutic levels of Laser light to reduce pain and speed up the healing process. This has been effective with patients even after suffering with high levels of chronic pain for years. We are a member of the Hospital of Special Surgery Rehabilitation Network. This allows patients to have their therapy coordinated between the hospital and our office.

Mary Ellen – Total Knee Replacement Rehab

Mary Ellen came to PT following her total knee replacement with the goal of getting back to the activities she loves as quickly and safely as possible.

Through her dedication and commitment to the rehab process, she made tremendous progress and exceeded her therapy goals in just a short period of time.

Her hard work and consistency paid off quickly, and she’s now back to moving with greater confidence and strength.

Great work, Mary Ellen!

Patient Success Monday 💪

A few great patient milestones from the office this week.

Rich – Heel Spur Surgery Rehab

Rich came to our office following heel spur surgery and was having significant difficulty walking.

Through consistent work focused on restoring strength and mobility, he made steady progress throughout his rehab with Kevin.

Now he’s back to playing 18 holes and walking better than ever.

See you on the fairway, Rich! ⛳️

Jude – Ankle Instability Rehab

Jude has been a patient at our office for many years and recently returned due to recurrent ankle instability that was causing pain and limiting her activity level.

We implemented a stabilization, proprioceptive, and strengthening program that quickly improved her comfort and confidence with being on her feet again.

An updated pair of custom orthotics, along with her home exercise program, have helped provide additional support and should keep her moving pain-free for a long time.

Great work, Jude!

Meredith – Right Shoulder Pain

When Meredith began PT two months ago, she was unable to lie on her right shoulder because of pain and had stopped working out altogether. Even simple daily tasks, like lifting her purse from the passenger seat, were uncomfortable.

Using hands-on therapy to improve mobility in her right shoulder, combined with strengthening of her rotator cuff and other stabilizing muscles, she made steady progress throughout her rehab.

Now she’s back to overhead workouts and is able to sleep comfortably on her right side again.

Great work, Meredith!

Your feet are your foundation. 👣

Most modern shoes push our toes together over time, narrowing the foot and reducing our base of support. When the toes can’t spread and engage with the ground, balance and stability can suffer.

Research has shown that strengthening the small intrinsic muscles of the foot can improve balance, stability, and overall movement control — your toes play a bigger role than most people realize.

Practicing toe spread helps improve:
• Balance
• Foot stability
• Ground contact & control
• Overall movement efficiency

Tools like Yoga Toes® can help gently stretch and realign the toes, but the real benefit comes from actually using them — challenging your balance, loading the foot, and training the muscles to stabilize.

Small changes practiced consistently can make a big difference over time. 💪

One great patient milestone from the office this week.

Daron – Right Knee Pain

Daron came to PT with right knee pain that was making everyday activities like squatting and going downstairs difficult. He was also unable to ice skate without pain and swelling afterward.

Through a focused program emphasizing quad and glute strengthening over the course of several months, he made steady progress.

Now he is virtually pain-free with daily tasks and has returned to ice skating without any setbacks.

Great work, Daron!

One great patient milestone from the office this week.

Matt – Elbow Pain / Overuse

Matt returned to our office with elbow pain that was limiting his ability to work on his woodworking projects.

Through consistent effort over a couple of months—and with a little help from Kevin along the way—he was able to restore strength and function in his arm.

Now he’s back in the shop, building birdhouses better than ever.

Great work, Matt!
