There's who you are. And there's who the world decided you are.

Nobody sits down and agrees to the second one. It happens slowly. A story gets told about you often enough that you stop questioning it. A loop runs long enough that it starts to feel like a personality trait instead of a habit. And one day you notice there's a gap between how you move through the world and how you actually feel in your own heart.

Eight weeks to tell them apart. That's what this is.

The Art of Leaning In isn't a class you sit through. Every week you'll ground, you'll make something, you'll write, and you'll talk it through with a small group of people doing the same work beside you. Journaling and art as a way in. Gentle self-inquiry as a way through. A custom workbook and every supply you need, yours to keep.

You'll leave each session lighter. Clearer. More in tune with the voice that's been waiting to be heard -- yours.

What we love about this one is that it doesn't ask you to become someone new. It helps you get reacquainted with who you already were before the world had opinions about it.

Eight Wednesdays, 6 to 8pm, with Christina King at Reflective Harmony.
September 23 and 30, October 7, 14, 21 and 28, November 4 and 11.

Investment in You: $789, with a $100 deposit to hold your spot. Payment plans available.

Space is limited and this one tends to fill -- so if your heart's nudging you, trust that call.

Things that have happened in Karen's chair yoga class: silly noises, singing, a joke or two, and actual out-loud laughing in a yoga room, on purpose.

Things that also happen: strength, balance, mobility, and stress quietly leaving your body like it was never invited in the first place.

Both of those are true at once, and that's the part people don't expect.

Let's clear up what chair yoga actually is, because it gets filed in the wrong drawer constantly. Karen's class is for anyone rebuilding after an injury or an illness. Anyone managing a chronic condition. Anyone who'd like to move well without the floor being part of the negotiation. And anyone who has simply decided they'd like to feel better in their body without white-knuckling their way to it.

It is a complete practice. Not a lesser one, not a warm-up for real yoga, not something you graduate out of. The chair holds you steady while you do the actual work.

You'll leave refreshed, rejuvenated, and with a little more peace of mind than you walked in with.

Tuesdays 12 to 1pm.
Thursdays 10 to 11am.

And yes, you're allowed to laugh in here.

When did making things become something you have to earn?

There was a version of you who made stuff for no reason. Drew in the margins of your notebook. Sang in the car with the windows down. Made something with your hands on a long Sunday because the Sunday was long and you wanted to.

And then somewhere along the way creativity got quietly reclassified. It went into the same bucket as a vacation -- a thing you get to do once the important things are handled.

The important things are never handled. That is not a personal failing on your part. That is just how the arrangement works, and it will keep working that way for as long as you're waiting for a gap to appear.
Which is why it never comes back on its own. Nobody wakes up on a random Tuesday with a free afternoon and decides to paint. The afternoon fills. It fills every time.

The only way this comes back is if you go somewhere on purpose, with other people who came on purpose, and put materials in your hands in a room where nobody needs anything from you.

That's the Creative Renaissance. October 23, 24, and 25 at Reflective Harmony, held by Christina King, LCAT. Small group on purpose. A $250 deposit holds your seat.

She's still in there, friend. She's just been waiting for an appointment.

Kelley's class is gentle. It is not easy. There's a difference, and about four minutes in, your nervous system will explain it to you.

Here's what happens in that room. You walk in carrying whatever you've been carrying -- the stress, the grief, the low-grade anxiety, or just the accumulated weight of an extremely ordinary Tuesday. Kelley spends the first few minutes doing one thing: helping you feel safe. Then you slow down enough to actually hear yourself again, which for most of us is the part we've been quietly avoiding.

She's had people tell her "I finally exhaled." She's had people say it was the first time they'd felt calm in weeks. She keeps teaching because of those sentences.

Her class is for beginners. For people coming back after years away. For anyone in the middle of a transition. And especially for anyone who has ever thought yoga probably isn't for someone like them -- which Kelley will tell you is usually the person who belongs there most.

You don't have to be flexible. You don't have to be calm. You just have to show up.

Mondays and Wednesdays at 11:30am -- a 45-minute lunchtime class, so you can be back at your desk after.
Wednesdays at 4:30pm -- 60 minutes.

Nobody gets a room in this building because they filled out a form.

People ask me about this fairly often, usually when they want to rent space, and the true answer is that I'm difficult about it in ways that don't show up on paper. Credentials are the easy part. Plenty of people have the certificate and still shouldn't be holding a room full of tender humans.

What I'm actually watching for is what happens when someone is falling apart in front of them. Does the practitioner get uncomfortable and rush in to fix it? Can they sit in it? Would they even notice, or would they keep moving through their plan?

And then there's the thing that sounds small and is not small at all: do they want the other people in this building to do well? Because one person who treats the practitioner two doors down as competition will quietly poison an entire hallway. I have watched that happen in other spaces. It will not happen in this one.
So every single person who holds a room here was chosen, deliberately, sometimes after a long conversation and a long think. And then they chose us back, which matters just as much.

That's the reason I can send you to any one of them without a second of hesitation. It isn't loyalty. It's that I already did the vetting so you don't have to.

Chair yoga gets filed under "gentle option for older adults" and stays there, which does a real disservice to the actual practice.

It's for anyone rebuilding strength after an injury. Anyone managing a chronic condition. Anyone whose balance isn't what it was and would like it back. Anyone recovering from an illness. Anyone who works at a desk and can feel their hips slowly turning to concrete.

You get strength, balance, and mobility. You get real stress relief. You just get it without negotiating your way down to the floor and back up again.

Karen's class, and yes, there is laughing.

Some messages arrive as words. These arrive as faces.

Christina works in a brief meditative state, using charcoal and mixed media to capture the energy of those in Spirit who want to reach you. And you watch it happen -- loose, scattered marks slowly resolving into recognizable figures, Guides, and symbols on the page in front of you.

That's the part that catches people off guard. Most readings ask you to take someone's word for what they're receiving. This one you see arrive.

When the drawing is finished, she shares the clairsentient impressions that moved through her while she worked. And then you take the illustration home. It's yours -- a physical thing you can hang on a wall, which is not something a reading usually leaves you holding.

Christina weaves her background in creative arts therapy together with her intuitive connection to the Universe, and what comes through is unlike anything else offered in our space.

Jen thought yoga was light and fluffy and absolutely not for her.

She'd done Tough Mudder. She considered herself strong, and she was right about that. It took a friend dragging her into a hundred-and-five-degree room to change her mind, and even then it wasn't the heat that got her.

It was one line, said in passing: you only do what you can do today.

That's it. That's what turned a skeptic into someone who's been practicing for twenty years and now teaches. Not a transformation, not a breakthrough -- one sentence that gave her permission she didn't know she was waiting for.

She asks a question in class sometimes, like it's nothing, and we have not stopped thinking about it since. What's wrong with focusing on yourself for sixty minutes?

Nothing. That's the answer. Nothing at all.

Restorative Yoga is the one where you get held. Bolsters, blankets, and enough support under you that your body finally stops bracing. Each session helps you release tension you've been carrying so long it stopped registering as tension.

Some days the most powerful thing you can do is slow all the way down.

Tuesdays, 5:30 to 6:30pm with Jen Menagias.

Thirty minutes at 11:15 on a Thursday, and you're back at your desk by noon.

That's the whole ask. Not a weekend, not a commitment, not something you have to rearrange your life around. Just the middle of an ordinary day, interrupted on purpose.

Open Heart, Steady Soul is a loving-kindness meditation, and it works on something most of us have gotten quietly bad at -- being kind to ourselves at the same volume we're kind to everyone else. It softens self-judgment. It sets down emotional heaviness you've been carrying since Monday without noticing. And it does something with forgiveness and grace that's hard to describe until you've felt it move through you.

Kelley Apple guides it with her voice and your breath, and if you've been in a room with Kelley you already know what that sounds like.

Come as you are, straight from wherever your morning was.

Thirty minutes. $15 a session, or four for $50 if you want to make it a rhythm rather than a one-off -- which, honestly, is where the real change lives.

Two practices, one room, and all you do is receive.

That last part is the whole thing. Most classes ask something of you -- effort, attention, keeping up. This one asks you to lie there and let two people who know exactly what they're doing take care of the rest.

Here's how it works. You move through a gentle, unhurried class with Kelley -- shapes held long enough that your body actually settles into them. Nothing rushed, nothing to keep pace with. And while you're in it, Cristina offers Reiki alongside the movement. Hands-on or hands-off, always your choice, always your call.

You don't need to know anything about Reiki. You don't need to believe anything in particular about it. You don't need to be flexible or experienced or calm. Come lie down and let someone else hold the space for an hour.

This is about receiving, not striving. Softly lit, trauma-informed, and by most accounts, incredibly calming.

Wednesdays, 6 to 7pm at Reflective Harmony.
