Held last week at Tamaya Resort at Santa Ana Pueblo, the conference brought together family medicine physicians and healthcare professionals from across the state for education, collaboration, and professional development. is ALWAYS grateful for opportunities to connect with our primary care colleagues and share dermatologic knowledge that helps improve care for patients across our state. 🌵🌶️

and are excited that our SPF 30 sunscreen dispensers have been refreshed just in time for the 2026-2027 academic year. Each sunscreen dispenser has been fitted with fresh effective sun protection and can be found in 3 convenient locations on HSC campus at the: College of Nursing/College of Public Health (CON/COPH) building, Happy Heart Bistro, and Fitz Hall. Join for Grand Rounds on 8/21 with Dr Katharina Shaw!

Dr Shaw is Adjunct Assistant Professor of Dermatology at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. In addition to treating adult patients with autoimmune connective tissue diseases of the skin, she is the founder and co-director of the pediatric rheumatology-dermatology clinic at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She has a special interest in sclerosing disorders, cutaneous lupus and dermatomyositis and has published on the epidemiology and advanced treatments for these conditions. In addition, she is part of the executive team at Priovant Therapeutics, a small biopharma company investigating novel therapies for highly morbid, autoimmune diseases, as SVP of Dermatology. Welcome Dr. Shaw!

is excited to welcome (back) dermatopathologist, Dr Beverly Faulkner-Jones, to our education team.

Dr. Beverly Faulkner-Jones, MD, PhD, is a board-certified dermatopathologist with over twenty years of experience in diagnostic dermatopathology across academic and private practice settings. Dual board certified in Anatomic Pathology and Dermatopathology, she previously served as Staff Pathologist on the tertiary-level dermatopathology service at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Harvard Medical School, where she consulted for the multidisciplinary Cutaneous Oncology Program and directed dermatopathology education for the Harvard Combined Dermatopathology Residency Training Program. Her most recent research focused on two-photon microscopy for margin assessment in Mohs surgery. She is a member of the American Society of Dermatopathology and the American Academy of Dermatology, and has been recognized as a Castle Connolly Boston Top Doctor. We are so grateful to have her assist in teaching and dermpath clinical coverage in New Mexico again!

is excited to announce the hire of a third coordinator for our very busy and growing clinical research team!

Satya Bhargavi Thamminidi has a background in clinical research and healthcare, with experience supporting research studies, maintaining regulatory compliance, coordinating study activities, and working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams. She enjoys staying organized, learning new skills, and contributing to meaningful work that improves patient care. Outside of work, she loves spending time with family and friends, is a big dog person and a huge Harry Potter fan. We are very excited for Satya to join our team, welcome!
