UNM CDD is accepting applications for the 2026–2027 Partners in Policymaking program.

To receive full consideration, submit your application by August 24, 2026. The program includes virtual presentations and workshops led by local and national speakers.

Admission to the program is competitive. Priority is given to self-advocates and family members of people with disabilities. A limited number of professionals working in the disability field are also accepted each year.

Participants meet virtually for 17 classes. Class dates and times are listed in the registration information.

Approximately 30% of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) fall each year.
Frequency: About two-thirds of adults with IDD who fall will fall more than once.
Severe Outcomes: Roughly 15% of these falls result in serious physical injuries like fractures.
Emergency Care: Fall injuries are a leading cause of emergency department visits and hospital stays for this group.
Early Onset: Risk factors and bone-density changes appear decades earlier compared to peers without disabilities.
