That moment you take your child's temperature and it reads 104°F. 😳
Your heart drops. You start Googling. You spiral.
I've been there — as a mom AND as a pediatric provider. And here's what I wish every parent knew before that moment happens:
The number on the thermometer isn't the whole story. Your child is.
We don't worry about the fever number as much as we worry about how your child looks and acts. A high fever in a child who's playing and drinking? Different story than a low fever in a child who won't wake up.
